Wade Woodaz has a huge upside...

according to Dabo. Said Wade is in the mould of Simmons but maybe slightly better athletically.
Dude has 29 offers but must be very intelligent too. He has offers from 4 Ivy league schools to include Harvard, Yale, Columbia and Penn. I think he is the first recruit to Clemson I can remember with that much Ivy school interest. I can assure you that having a high IQ will only help him play in the same role and capacity as Simmons. Look forward to seeing what he brings a couple yrs doen the road.

What does an Ivy offer mean, guaranteed admission?

They don't have athletic scholarships. I still don't understand how the academies recruit either, since they require the letters from congressmen/senators. Is it all set up so an athlete they want is guaranteed that letter?

That's more impressive than Ivy league to me. A lot harder to get in.

Yeah, it's a guaranteed acceptance. I actually forgot that the Ivy league schools didn't provide athletic schollies. But the school will provide need based schollies and financial support for those athletes that need help.
I guess the Ivy league coaches can offer HS athletes but they must fall into groups academically but the coaches are still required to maintain a specific standard average which is less than the student body average. Still noteworthy that Wade must fall into one of the higher groups to have as many Ivy league opportunities.

The NIL is going to even the playing field with the Ivy schools. They have CEO money everywhere. It's bound to happen.

that player gets an "Academic" schollie or some whatever you want to call it "Economic" aid. those schools have BILLIONS in their funds and the schools are expensive.

They generally don't have merit scholarships either

It's all need-based. I think MIT and Caltech might be the same, but not sure.

If he had another year in college, he'd definitely been a 4 ??
The kid can sky and fly. Wonder how many offered as a safety vs linebacker. We got him as a hybrid. Wes will probably do some neat things with him. Love them kids that beat you with their brains too. Wouldn't shock me a bit to see him surpass some on depth chart.

Like you, I'm pumped about Wade Woodaz.
He'll need to get bigger before he moves up the depth chart, though.
And as smart as he apparently is, he'll still have to learn the defense before he plays anything other than special teams.

High praise indeed. He is without a doubt smart
I had a buddy who played football at Harvard. He said the hard part was getting in. Once you were in, except for a few majors, it wasn't that hard to stay eligible and graduate. He was an education major, and his quote was"How hard can they make it."

Yep. Yale Law School doesn’t even give out grades.
It’s arguably the best law school in the country.

Don't kid yourself- Woodaz will be graded wherever he ends up. Even if they don't tell you your grade, they are thinking it.

If he’s better athletically than Simmons that says a lot. Going to be fun to watch!

has a huge BACKside. That last name just lends itself naturally to all kinds of posterior jokes. And, don't sit there and pretend you Wooden laugh at them, either.

Watch his videos. Terrible tackling. I love our class, but I honestly see him as a project. I could see him being very good, but he needs a lot of of work. Time will tell.
