Pitt is a good team. They are playing really high level basketball. We didn’t play our best, and were down late, but we persevered and found a way to win.
I really like this team! We have some very good players and we play well together.
We have won 9 straight ACC regular season games! That has to be a record.
Let’s avoid a letdown against Louisville, and set the record for our best ACC start ever. Go Tigers!

It’s no different than Death Valley. You let the product dwindle and so will attendance. I sat in DV on 10/31/98 and I bet 50K in attendance is being generous.
Now more so than ever people are being picky where they invest their time and money.

The product has not dwindled as our record the past few years is statically similar or better than any period in our 100 year history. The issue is perception as CBB has not screamed at Dean Smith or or destroyed inferior teams with a full court press. It’s just good basketball which seems to be unpopular with some fans

We broke the sound record in 2005 against Miami when we were 1-1 coming off a 6-5 season.
Even when we’re average like basketball has been, Death Valley is packed and loud. Littlejohn isn’t.

Not so. You must be a youngster. Go back to Tommy West Red Parker and Hootie Ingram and the stadium was only half full at the best.

Exactly. People will not show to watch us lose. If they feel we have a good chance then they will come. At this time I look if tigers continue to play well for the John to fill up each game. I used to have season tickets and it makes me want to go see them again.

the state of our basketball program under Brownell fall flat. It's been largely a low energy, hit or miss, ho hum product with only glimmers of hope now and then, only to consistently fall short. One game over .500 as the norm isn't competitive, nor is it "winning" basketball. If it were as historically strong as the number pumpers and long essayers try to spin it, the fan support would be there as it was for prior coaches who supposedly delivered worse. But it hasn't been.
Brad has put us in a position today where he can start reversing that trend on the fan side. Really hoping he can sustain that this season and start building support back up for what's ahead.
Go Tigers!

No but, 13-3, 5-0 ACC is pretty dang good for a Brownell team, and I believe that record at this point is good enough to pack Littlejohn on 1-14 at 5pm....

Yes it was very gutsy and you are correct we did not play our best. Clemson usually loses these type games especially on the road. Chase Hunter made a couple of pull up shots in the paint that were terrific down the stretch. We have a very balanced team with multiple options for scoring. Go Tigers … win 2 more conference games this week. I will be there, but 9PM weekday games tough on an old guy who is still working!

Agreed will all points. What do you think the chances are we do have a let down at home against the worst team in the league? Is it fair to be highly upset and disappointed if we lose to Louisville? I certainly don’t think we lose at home against Louisville but we do already have two inexcusable losses. I believe this team can be special. How can we get PJ going so he scores 20/game? I know being balanced is great but PJ needs to dominate some.

The team always seems to change once that bubble gets popped, just look at last year. Undefeated start, we were the last team to not lose a game I think or close to it. Once they lost it took a long time to get their feet back under them then it was too late. Hopefully that would not happen with this team but that will be the true test to see what they are made of. If they bounce back they may have something special, if they rack up 3 losses in a row it’s just another average Clemson basketball team.

Balance is much better. Would rather have 4-5 guys in double figures than one guy that scores a lot any time. The other guys begin to rely on that guy and stop trying to score.

One loss, two losses do not destroy a college basketball season. You win some, you lose some. What you can bring every night is effort and grit. This team brings effort and grit every time it takes the floor.

where we were cold and the other team was hot. It was our worst loss of the season.
Any ACC team this year, including Louisville, is capable of beating any other ACC team. It isn’t likely that they will beat us, or even keep the final score within 10 points, but they could.
This is the quintessential trap game. I expect us to play well and win, but we can’t start reading our press clippings and look ahead to Duke or we could lose.

This. I am actually kind of worried about the Louisville game. They just played Syracuse Competitively. We win this game 9 out of 10 times, but we could certainly lose. Definitely a trap game with Duke looming.
Would frustrate me if that happened as this is the first game attending in 10+ years.

We got down in 2nd half and things settled in down by longer than any of us wanted. We weren't hitting 3's much at all... but then presto, they got lead and held it. Honestly, a solid looking team. Impressive win.
I think I missed a total of 3 bb games when I was a student fr 82-86. We actually had a few good wins.... LJ would get rowdy. Loved it.

Great game. It could have gone either way, but our guys gutted it out. In basketball you win some close ones and lose some close ones. It's a frustrating game to watch sometimes. It's always fun to play, but sometimes the ball simply won't go in. The Tigers are really playing well right now. Keep it up. Go Tigers!!!

They kept battling and fighting on D. Ball movement is phenomenal. Then clutch shooting down the stretch by others than just Tyson and PJ. Galloway is gonna be a huge help this year. He has the “it” factor.
You can tell the coaching has gone up a notch. The assistants have been upgraded. We actually run a real O now! Fathom that!

One of them, Billy Donlon, was an assistant under Brad at previous stops and was most recently the head coach at Kansas City.
Amazingly, his salary of $400,000 was approved. That represents a higher than usual assistant salary for us.

He’s already gotten a good looking recruit for next season. He was Brownell’s top assistant when we hired Brad and then succeeded him at Wayne State.
On another topic, the reason we lost to Loyola was we fell in love with the 3 ball and kept chucking them up all game. Now the team is playing way more disciplined- not settling for 3’s, getting into the lane and working for good shots. If we continue that style we won’t lose to Louisville.

and I think multiple scorers too. the fact that numerous guys can be relied on for fg ad ft makes it tough for other teams to get a us out of synch offensively. not impossible but much tougher than if there are only one or two dependable shooters. I was delighted when Hunter Tyson buried those two late ft's yesterday

One of the early indicators of this team working in their favor is that they don't panic when they fall behind and seem to have the will to win which helps propel them to come back from deficits. They are playing with a lot of confidence and a belief missing from previous teams.
Big week next week. It would be easy to let down against a bad Louisville team and to look ahead to their meeting with Duke on Saturday but I think this team has enough poise and purpose not to let that happen. I hope we get a great turnout in Littlejohn for both games.

Definitely a lot to be excited about again with hoops watching this year's team perform. The confidence they're showing out there regularly is outstanding.
Was really hoping Brad's old assistant hires for this season would help rekindle some of his success prior to coming here in closing out close games. Finishing out two consecutive one-score games like we just did, on the road to boot vs ACC squads, is very encouraging to what lies ahead.

Please don’t be serious about the bet. It’s just not worth it. I am not sold on Clemson making the Dance yet but realistically we should only have to win 6 more conference games and Honestly I think I could manage that with our remaining home schedule and rest of conference games. If we beat Louisville it would take a major collapse to not make the field of 68+ in my opinion.

The gutsy was my favorite part. We got down and didn't fold. Made our final shots and found a way to win. Great win !

I finally got to watch yesterday's game when I got home from work this morning and there was no quit in our guys! Way to battle back on the road and overcome all the emotion inside that building at Pitt. Great win for the Tigers. This team certainly has a different feel about them.

Yes. They are quite possible the worst team in the country. Literally.
Their NET is 344. It is the lowest of any P5 school. The next lowest is…South Carolina, at 264.

Great win. Pitt shot lights out from the 3 pt range. Even they center made one and another guy at end of half threw up a prayer that went in. We had to play great ball to beat them. Great coaching move by Brownell at end of game to keep Burton from driving to basket. He don’t make that adjustment then we lose as Burton either scored or drew a foul. Impressed with the coaching this year. Can’t let down against Louisville or they can beat you. Go Tigers make history this year.
