Yes, I agree, we have his Dad for 5 more years of the Dynasty!! I think he will help us too! I’m sure it’s weird recruiting another coaches son from a family like Clemson!

Tyler V. has skills. Certainly the best athlete on a good Daniel High School team which is why they put him at QB to run the Lions' fast paced offense.
He's a bit short, but has time to grow!

Not to be Debbie Downer, but that really doesn't affect his dad's decision to stay or go. With today's transfer portal, they can transfer out if dad gets a head job somewhere.
But, still a very good pickup.

Venables is on record as saying he can't ask his sons' to commit if he isn't doing so, himself. Brent's going nowhere...and the CFB landscape is ticked! We Tigers...we be happy!

That's true, I had forgotten that he said that. I don't think he's going anywhere, I am just saying that doesn't really lock him in this day and age.
He makes well over a million a year for being an assistant and I don't know that I would want to go somewhere else and take all the heat. He's got the best assistant job in the country. Not that much point in leaving.

Actually, he makes over $2 million a year. The fact that Brent Venables, Tony Elliot, Jeff Scott, and others have stayed so long is a huge part of Clemson‘s ongoing success. By comparison, Alabama’s staff is a revolving door of coaches trying to build their resumes on their way to better jobs elsewhere. We’re incredibly fortunate to have the best coaching staff in America.
My son played football against Jake and he is the real deal. I believe this younger kid will be an awesome addition to the Clemson team. Welcome to Tiger town young man!!!

Haha, John McKay was funny. The family also had taken in Pat Haden so he wouldn't have to move with his family to the San Fran area, so his QB was sleeping upstairs, too. JK McKay was one of my heroes when I was a little kid because I was a blond-haired kid that played WR.

There are no free rides for FB players. They work their butts off all year with very little down time, not to mention the lasting, lingering ailments they carry their entire lives. Is it a good experience? Definitely, but it is far from free.
