How long will it take...

Personally I barely watch any professional sports...

It will take time to adjust - but it seems college football is now a professional sport...

How long until the market adjusts and the money available in college football shrinks?

If I am going to invest time in a professional sport...how long will I be willing to invest in an inferior product?

For example - minor league baseball teams make a fraction of the revenue of an MLB team...
The NFL is a superior product to college football...

How long until the market course corrects...and the money begins to dry up?

I think you'll see money dry up quickly at some schools without 2-4 BIG donors who are willing to fork over several million each year. That's going to get old quick.

That'll or it will be a revolving door of coaches...

That basically happened at Auburn already over the last few years.

This opens up all kinds of Pandora boxes. Corporate sponsors with start to line up in support of their favorite teams and throw big $ into the programs.

Watch out for the day when Memorial Stadium becomes Pink Taco Stadium...

Big CFB programs have massive fan bases, minor league teams do not.

They have massive fan bases largely because of a perceived affiliation to the college...

At least ostensibly they were students of the college...they are already free agents...next they will be professionals...the charade of actual affiliation with the college will eventually be over..

At that point - it becomes about the product on the field....which is inferior to the NFL...

It may take time...but this is the natural progression...

If it's a team of professionals and not in any way student athletes...with untethered free agency..
eventually it will be judged by the product on the field...a product inferior to the NFL..

The assumption that corporate sponsors will take over isn't a given...
It's a good investment today...maybe...but is it long term?

If I am a major corporation would I consider it a wise choice to invest in a sport with a possibly diminishing fan base...or at the very least a new model with uncertain prospects..

Excellent summation!***

They are destroying everything that made college ball so popular

It's almost as if some group wanted to deliberately destroy football, Boy Scouts, the military, pretty much anything masculine. It's weird.
