that have made it in the big leagues … that I know of. I would be interested to hear from other listeners what they think set them apart from Mickey, walt, or Qualk. Qualk does other sports games broadcasts like Kelly did so maybe his time will come.

I think Qualk has the talent to make it in the big leagues, but I would love to see him become the future voice of the Tigers.

is fine just like it is, with regards to not having a lineup full of hosts and personalities that are destined for bigger, or perhaps national markets. I actually prefer, for a CLEMSON sports station, that the station have mostly local people, whether they are ready for prime-time or not, and retains that local, small-town feel, even if it means some $$$ and technology limitations. I sure as hayull don't want it turned into an ESPN style duplication with a bunch of people who have no connection to Clemson or the area yacking about soccer and hockey, or giving weird Clemson takes because they don't get it. I'd much rather have Andy, Barney, Gomer, Otis, and the whole Mayberry crew - by a million miles. I know Kelly and Qualk and Philpot had/have local, Clemson connections, and I am proud of them and wish them well (I especially miss Kelly), but I'm fine with the rest of the current line up, and the fact that they may not (not saying they don't) have a future in bigger markets doesn't bother me in the least.

Qualk should give up broadcasting and start training officials or officiating himself. With his vast knowledge, he would be a wealthy man in no time.

He’s gonna be able to do what he wants in broadcasting in the future; he’s on par or better than most national radio hosts. Also I prefer his baseball play by play to our other broadcasters.

I think you are correct. I had to stop listening to WCCP. It is just awful! It is like listening to a WWF Wrestling match or a session of Judge Judy. Just awful.

Now, WCCP is all about sports betting. I guess it’s easier to get on the air and say the odds are this or that and I would put my money on this pick. It must be harder to talk about player development, possible recruits, our coaching staff or Clemson sports in general.
I have started listening to music on the radio again for the most part.

All these folks CARE DEEPLY about Clemson athletics and sports in general. And last I checked, the service is free. Kelly, Mac, and Roy didn’t start their careers with great skill. They worked at it. And they chose to move on. I’m grateful everyday for the service provided by WCCP.
