I think it’s pretty cool how us Clemson folks know how to act when on the field. No shenanigans. Maybe ByU could do it? Maybe Holy Cross? One thing is for sure - definitely not USuC. Stabbings, shootings, robbery, rapes, drug deals.. it all would go down at midfield at the roach

It really depends on the game. If we beat Furman its a gathering at the Paw. When we beat NC State in OT in 2016 it was a field rush. And there are other recent examples too.
Enjoy it while it lasts, it will be gone before long.

But, meeting at the paw will probably go the way of a lot of traditions in college football. Things that were once considered tradition are now considered inappropriate.

There has been pressure on FSU to change the nickname and stop the pregame planting of the spear off ona one for at least 40 years.
It has become a political issue. FSU is able to keep the nickname and the horse and rider because the Seminole tribe supports it. Once they no longer support it, it will be gone.

SEC actually needs new blood running SEC. Fans rushing in the field after big games shouldn’t be stopped if done right and peaceful. Tennessee doing it after upsetting Alabama was different when you bring down goal posts and take them around campus. Many fans rush field without problems acting like humans and not terrorists. SEC last year should have told Tennessee after their mess next 2 games versus Alabama - Tennessee home games be in Alabama

While waiting for the crowd to thin out and leave after the SC win in 1996, I saw an SC player who was kind of like running around like an airplane with his arms out in celebration after their win in 1996 and inadvertently knocked over a fan who was behind him when he quickly turned around.
Later that week an announcement was put out asking for witnesses and I volunteered to go to the CU PD to answer some questions. I never heard anything about the incident so have no idea if the player was punished or sued or what.

but:
People respond differently now. People will say anything from the safety of their home on a mobile device or PC on social media. They tend to think that same approach is OK to a 290 lb teenager who has just lost an emotional game. That is a formula for disaster. While we have never seen this at Clemson, it has shown up in other colleges across the nation.
In my sixty years I have never seen elementary school boys told they can not act like indians or robbers or spies on the school playground. But a 26 year old man can act like he is a woman and get paid millions by Nike to model sports bras.
All that to say this ain't the world we grew up in.

They allow UGA players to be arrested. Bama players to have guns. LSU players to not go to class. SC to not have class.

I’d like to see what would actually happen when students storm the home field at UGA or Bama when either of them are slotted to play in the CFP… Highly doubt they’ll force them to drop out of the bowl game, ergo drop out of the CFP and lose all that money and notoriety for the conference.
