To us newer posters what the deal is with the increased police presence on the board? I saw someone was deputized recently and wonder if that’s kinda like Gomer being deputized by Andy to help patrol Mayberry (ie kind of a toothless title) or is this like a new campus security rent a cop who is out to make a name for themselves by writing the most parking tickets for even the most minor infraction? Thanks in advance.

This is serious business. Although Crump and team only give Deputy Francis Marion® one bullet which he keeps in his pocket, not much gets by FM. Play it safe.

...been a tiny bit outta control the last few weeks. I think an unspoken effort has been undertaken to restore a modicum of civility. Deputizing FM was a 4-D chess move by the mods in my opinion.

I was partly saying in jest but also hoping that differences of opinion will still be welcome. I understand the need to tamp down personal attacks but "group think" would be a bad solution. Hopefully spirited debate will continue and it won't be that you have to agree with a few persons opinions to still be welcome.

They are personal attacks and are based on ignorance and self importance, not a difference of opinion.
That would be: Gosh, I wish we would run/pass/blitz more. No, I like the three wide out screens in a row. You’re both crazy, bring back the wishbone…etc.
Not: Dabo hired Garrett and then out of wealth, ignorance and stupidity has prevented him from urinating for 4 days, so that his play calling is poor due to a UTI. Not only that, but Dabo and Brad Brownell dug the tunnels in Gaza AND brought AIDS to South Carolina. After all, sitting on my couch makes me a coach and I know more about football than anybody. Plus, any fan that doesn’t need depends for a week after any loss isn’t really a fan. Nothing but perfection will please me since I am me…
So a return to a difference of opinion over character assassination is definitely needed. Most of all, people need to stop developing such out of whack hatred for people they have never met.
