Fascinating stuff really. More dangerous than the vaccine itself, is the potential to misuse it in the future by humans. Imagine having the ability to engineer/modify any pandemic virus you want to create, then have the ability to create a vaccine for it. Store the virus, vaccinate your citizens, then release it to wreck the planet. Anyway, that's a potential downside.
