I don't really think it matters. The problems rest with Dabo. He's going to hire another yes man even if he fires Goodwin. Even if he were to fire Goodwin and make an outside hire, I would be very skeptical and expect him to interfere like he's done with Riley.
I know multiple major boosters who Dabo's given special access to. They've all independently said the same thing. Venables used to be the voice of dissent to a lot of Dabo's decisions. While Venables was often right, Dabo didn't like being questioned. So he surrounds himself by people who will support him in every way. That's why he often hires from within. If a coach is your son or friend from Alabama who couldn't get a similar position elsewhere, they're not going to challenge you. And I think Riley doesn't have the personality to challenge Dabo, and is more likely to just try to leave to go elsewhere.
Dabo may well fire Goodwin. But it won't change anything. Our problems are far too deep now. Our reputation with recruits is terrible (and I don't know if we can repair them with Dabo because he's been so open in opposing NIL). The cupboard is mostly bare outside of a few key places.
