and this current group of politicos is the best we can do?? Sadly - it ain't just the Presidential politicos as it's 95% of our Federally elected officials as well. Most of these people I would not select to do simple mindless tasks much less run our country.

We have truly got ourselves in a pickle with the lack of other viable political parties outside the 2 party (and establishment uni-party) system where there are no term limits and the incumbency advantage is almost impossible to overcome. Because of this, we now have a permanent political class (many of which are generational families of politicians) that largely controls who runs and sets the agenda, which in most cases is designed to enrich themselves and their friends.

This political class has created a whole elitist political ecosystem where the Federal bureaucracy, MSM, academia, and some tech/entertainment outlets are all contributors. They control every bullhorn and the people responsible for holding those in power in check (i.e. the MSM) are just a part of the political ecosystem and in many cases are nothing but a stenography pool for those in political power.

Unfortunately many of the "best" people in our country don't want any part of this ecosystem where they will vilified beyond measure if they get anywhere close to disrupting the elitist political club. No true outsider is allowed to do anything other than provide the ruling political caste with campaign donations. Being a piggy bank to fund career politicians is ok - but never step outside that role or their ecosystem will crush you. It is sickening what our political system and Federal Government have become...
