A player was ejected for “Malicious” contact. Here’s a video of it. Even tho I would love an upset and this call def helps Utah Vally. I definitely don’t think it’s the right call. There’s doesn’t seem to be anything malicious going on. It was just a bang bang play. If anything the catcher was blocking the plate. What do you guys think?

But I suppose the lesson is to slide instead of going in standing up through the catcher.

Yep, slide is the answer. Head shots are bad.

Looked like the catcher was completely blocking the plate from that angle. And even though the catcher got shaken up, it didn't look like it was that bad to me. Not sure what the rulebook says runner is supposed to do when the catcher is blocking the plate. You try to slide feet first there you're just going to get blocked from the plate

The Oregon catcher was completely blocking the plate on the half inning prior and yet Utah Valley didn't get the call. Karma......

Typical weak call that’s been around for a while.

IF the dude slid, no issue. Giving the head shot was the kicker.

It's the correct call. You cannot lower your shoulder. Player knows that too, he probaly got ejected somewhere along the line for doing that before. Those who like the contct seek it!

This ain't the good old days. He has to slide and he better not raise spikes above the shin.
1974 in an American Legion game against Easley, I was on 3rd and thought we got the squeeze sign. The batter didn't attempt to bunt and I got caught in no man's land. Rather than attack the catcher, I decided to turn around and go full football on the 3rd baseman. After 2 backwards somersaults, the 3rd baseman rolled into left field but held onto the ball. I was out but wasn't tossed. Not today.
