It would be a really bad idea, from the standpoint of separation of powers, for the president to declare a national emergency for this to get around Congress.

of the country by illegal aliens. Do that and your wall is funded in less than a month. That's the whole reason most are here. They didn't come to the US to become citizens, or to move their families here, although some do. But the main reason they come is to send money back to support their families. I've seen a dozen illegal aliens living in a hotel room, making $800 a week, living off $100 a week, leaving $700 a week to send back to Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, or Mexico. In one week, a son can send the same amount of money back home as his father and mother who live there could make in a year. Get two or three sons in the US working, and mom and dad and your siblings live like kings. After a decade or two many return home to "retire" with a nice nest egg built on what they've sent back.
