Someone should tell 247 Sports Clemson is the first and real Death Valley. That place in Louisiana was called Deaf Valley but people couldn’t understand there accents and thought they were saying Death Valley.

Then that makes LSU's Tiger Stadium "the other" Death Valley

Clemson is home to original and true Death Valley. Our stadium is actually in a valley.
I've been to Baton Rouge -- there are no valleys there.

LSU has a pretty campus, but the man made terrain in Mike's habitat seems to be the closest thing they have to hills or valleys.

Yes, Clemson has the REAL Death Valley

As the links posted here explains, Presbyterian College (former) HC, Lonnie MacMillan, often complained - "Playing in Clemson in September - there's no hotter place. It's like playing in Death Valley." And he had been out there in the '30s & witnessed Death Valley's heat in person.
I used to be a reporter in Laurens Co in the late '70s. During football season, I had to interview Presbyterian Coach Cally Gault every week. I asked him about the Death Valley story. Gault played for Coach Lonnie M. & he said coach LM had in fact nicknamed Memorial Stadium "Death Valley." Coach Howard liked the sound of it, & from the '50s on - it was "DV."
Clemson is home to THE ORIGINAL DEATH VALLEY - period. LSU's was known as DEAF Valley - a play on words (loud crowds). Now LSU wants to claim "Death Valley" as its own - but CU was unquestionably the first by DECADES.
I grew up in Clemson in the '50s & '60s & it was always called Death Valley as far back as I remember.

Toughest place to play is wherever the Clemson Tigers are.

For Bama, that was Santa Clara.
For Notre Dame, that was Arlington, TX.

Looks like it was called Deaf Valley into the late 80s and gradually became Death Valley.

Yes LSU was Deaf Valley because it was so loud during games. The "Death" for LSU was migration in error stemmed from media and confusion of "The Tigers" being National Champs in the early 80's who called their stadium Death Valley evolved from Howard's Rock truly from Death Valley desert and Memorial Stadium built in a valley. Clemson should push to Patent the name as they were the original school to adopt the moniker!

Outlet, i.e. FoxSports, ESPN, etc. Why should we allow them to stake claim to our Heritage. Remember what we had to do to Auburn for trying to steal "#AllIn". In that case we used Social Media. Those articles are priceless. Thanks for sharing that evidence!!
