Dance and his cherub cheeks and whiney mouth wrecked it. Trump should just have left him out of the room so he could play on his phone. Such a poor excuse for a tough guy. Would be just another lawyer (though I’m sure a good one making plenty of scratch) had Peter Thiel taken such a deep interest for some reason in JB while he was still in law school. Zelensky sees Dance the way Trump sees Zelensky.

Ukraine was a Soviet Republic, just like Russia, Belarus, Moldova, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan.
All of those are independent countries are independent nations right now, except two. Putin (read RUSSIA) took Georgia, and now Ukraine is on the block.

He only occupied part of Georgia, but I had fallen behind in events. It's been a primary destination for the men leaving Russia to avoid conscription. The people are pretty anti-Russian in the unoccupied remainder.
Russia is in really bad shape. All the smartest people left 30 years ago, which made it easier for an authoritarian to take it over. We had enough smart people to resist Trump, but we got out-voted by morons.

I will remind you of the OP. I know it's way back like in the 1990's and long forgotten.
Way back in the day, after the Earth cooled and the dinosaurs were all killed......There was a time when Ukraine was called the "bread basket" of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. That's often referred to as the USSR. Ukraine had the most reserves of wheat, grains, corn, etc. Just as the US Midwest is the bread basket of the United States of America, so was Ukraine to the old USSR.

The point is, the argument that Putin will never stop fighting because he needs their wheat production is ridiculous.

The Polish PM just summed it up by saying "500 million Europeans are asking 300 million Americans to defend them against 140 million Russians". That sums up the problem with Europe being a welfare state that would rather spend God knows how much on social programs and allowing in countless immigrants than spend anything of note to defend themselves. And they do this while maintaining their superiority to us the entire time, with the blessings of the US left which agrees with them.
