The SEC is so far ahead that Clemson has little hope in its future

If it's not obvious that the SEC money/media has created massive separation, you didn't watch games today or the last 12 National Championships.
Right now, Clemson is getting left behind. Sure - Clemson has done a great job of hanging in there, but that's going to run out soon (SEC schools are making double what Clemson is getting paid, and soon it'll be way more than that). The PAC-12 fell behind long ago, any hope of the Big12 is going to the SEC, there's not a single ACC school trending up [unless they were at the bottom of the barrel and had no where else to go], and the Big10 is just doing enough to hang on... but that fight is unwinnable. There's still going to be a large delta.
Premier College football is owned by the SEC, and if you aren't already hooked into that train, you've already fallen behind. The longer you wait to get linked to the SEC, the further behind you'll fall.
I hate to say this, but if we don't act fast, we may soon find ourselves amongst VT, FSU, UNC, NC State, and other schools that have trashed their potential.

spun to the media and lazily dispersed by the media. Only the very initiated who read the document, projected the revenue figures and compared them with the other 3(4) conferences would have noticed that although there would be revenue increases, the rate of increase would not match the other conferences. The disparity in revenue would increase.

This is why I believe ESPN intentionally pigeonholed the ACC to further elevate the SEC.
Bc when JOs like Paul Finebaum speak, it’s to further that agenda. When he called our fan base schizophrenic, it was just further gaslighting. What scumbags love is pulling ones over on the gullibles.
And the scumbags took over college football so it will only get worse until it is unwatchable.

Who cares. They are moving the playoffs to 12 teams. The SEC can do what they want. Take care of your team and don’t worry about other teams in the conference. They will beat themselves up and have a bunch of 3-5 loss teams stuck in the middle. Making money but no trophies to show.

stand by and watch as the ship sinks. I'm sure that's true of most schools capable of competing at our level. I don't givadam what kind of contract we signed, Clemson and the rest of college football won't let it happen that way. Sure, we will get to a point where some teams simply won't be able to keep up, and they will accept it and compete at a lower level as the landscape shifts and as the college football world changes. Having said that, I don't know if the SEC and it's member schools would want to be part of a college football league that only consisted of 20 teams. Dabo himself has said that college football would look very different in a few years, that we would have a new governing body, and that he felt we were headed for a complete blowup in which it the bigger power 5 schools, say 50 or so teams, would be in a division of their own. There is no reason that Clemson shouldn't or won't be included.

Then I read your long, whiny, negative post and realized that you are being sincere.
Dude, relax! We will be fine.
Deep breaths.
Yes, we need to address the revenue gap. But as most everyone here has said when I talk about money and our basketball program, it doesn’t matter. What matters is having the right coach to motivate and inspire players. I believe Dabo is that guy. Don’t you?

Yes, you are correct on both accounts. And coaching does matter. Because it's coaches that recruit. What Marine said is spot on. He used yesterday as an anology, that's all... Not that yesterday proved anything on just one gameday. It's been evolving as Marine stated over the past 15 years.
It's never been a secret - follow the Jimmy and Joes in ANY sport. Bobby Bowden philosophically changed college football. There were others (west coast teams) that tried to emulate but they didn't have the j & j's. B1G was slow to change and it cost them. OSU adapted but only now they have the Jimmy and Joes at your specialist positions QB/WR.
So it's not ALL of the SEC, but simply follow the Jimmy and Joes of ANY sport. Who's responsible for that, the coach is, and it takes coaching to meld the j & j's into a functional team.

You’ve seen some ACC teams lose or struggle against poor competition in week 1. You’ve seen the SEC win most of their week 1 games.
Then you rant about the same stuff people have been saying for the past 10+ years.
Enjoy rooting for Mississippi State or whoever your team is.

Well, it is not like this a new thing. Clemson had little hope in 1970,1975,2000, 2005,or 2010 either.
And yet since 1975, among big bad SEC teams only Bama has more Nattys than little ole,broke,4th ranked Clemson.
What Clemson has is an abundance of chicken little,no hope fans.
Go Tigers!!

FSU is saying “What???” Did you even watch Norvell last year??? When the SEC actually plays the ACC in week one, what’s happening? You know when you have that need to post? Don’t. Resist! With the exception of VTech, the ACC you’re hating on took care of business in week one. Were some victories tight? Yes. But tell me who lost against their cupcakes this week? I’ll hang up and listen. It’s football, chief. You have no control over any of it. Sit back, enjoy, and ####. Really.

At first I thought this post was an intentional joke. But maybe not. Where have you been this past three months MarineOneClemson® as this subject has been fileted, baked and stir fried? Anyway, if ESPN believes Clemson can help create additional viewers and revenue for the SEC, then ESPN will find a a way to overcome the ACC GOR, and the SEC will extend an invitation. And yes, accepting the length of the ESPN/ACC TV contract and the ACC GOR force play was gross negligence. Those who say the future could not be predicted should look at the SEC, B1G, BIG 12 and other conferences in more favorable contract situations.
