The season of what ifs and what might have beens...

To be homest, we really had no business losing to Duke. Nor NCST, nor Miami, and really FSU. We dominated them in everything but the final score. You can trace all those losses back to ball security. Never in my lifetime have I seen a team so snake-bitten by the fumble bug. And not just regular fumbles, fumbles that turned directly into points for the opponent. 14 point swings at times, no doubt tds erased by the fumble and scooped and scored. When we win tonight, barring a barrage of the aforementioned crippling turnovers, we will be looking at an 8-4 team that legitimately should have been no worse than 10-2. And that's as objective as I can be. Bring in a 3rd party to review each loss and I surmise they will come up with a similar conclusion. Oh well, we can't change what's already happened, we can only move forward and make the best of what is in front of us. C'mon Tigers let's dine on chicken tonight and take the state championship trophy back to Clemson!

Nope. Just someone who's very disappointed in the loses, but can still see the potential in the team. This season will go down as an anomaly. "The year of the crazy fumble" or something like that it'll be known by. This team will be nationally relevant again soon, like really soon. Next year even.

Saying we dominated those games is a pretty gross

exaggeration. Did we play well enough to win those games without the crippling turnovers? Probably. But they would've all been close games regardless. That doesn't fit my description of domination.

We were about to go up by 14 on the Noles when the scoop and score happened. And itnreally wasn't that close at that point. We had pretty much dominated them from thenget go. But, yes, I see your point, dominate was too strong a word. We dominated the stats though. All but the one that matters most.

Were we really?

It was 2nd and 10 at the 29 and Cade got sacked. If he hadn't fumbled it still would've been 3rd and 16-20 somewhere between the FSU 35 and 40. You're confident we would've scored there? And a TD no less? That's interesting because I'd put our odds of getting any points at all in that situation at less than 10%.

I was there and I saw a Tigers team that was there to play and moving the ball pretty easily at that point in the game, so yes, I am very confident we would've scored a TD on tht drive. A fg? Ehh not so much. But the Tigers were fully in control of that game until that back breaking play.

Outside of the nc state game I agree fumbles are what cost us. FSU didn’t score again until overtime after the fumble return for a touchdown. The Miami game Shipley was in the end zone. I thought he scored until i realized he fumbled. Next play from Miami they score on a long run. That’s a 14 point swing. And they didn’t score again to the 4th quarter. Duke we fumbled twice inside the 5. And missed some field goals real close. The defense gave up late. Some of it was great plays by the other team though. That FSU blitz was a perfect play call. The Miami fumble was great effort by the defense. Is what it is. Let’s beat the #### ants tonight!

Wow, never heard that one before... Just trying to say this team is much better than the record indicates.

Without all the turnovers this team could have been undefeated this year. We really had every opportunity to be if we had played to our ability.

I’ll grant you the FSU and Miami losses. Those were games Clemson totally blew. While the turnovers were gut wrenching disgusting, Duke and NC State led most of it the entirety of both games. Do I think Clemson is better than both, yes, but those were games where Clemson was beaten by Clemson and its opponent. Those other two I feel Clemson beat Clemson. That’s no disrespect to FSU or Miami, but I feel Clemson controlled both this games until the very end and crapped them away. So, I’ll say it should be 10-2 with a third place conference finish. Just my opinion, naturally.
