Prayers to those in Orlando

Looks like terrorism has struck again killing more than 20 in a nightclub in Orlando FL. Make me long for the days when "all" we had to worry about was the Soviets.

We know who it likely is but regardless it is "terrorism".

Not by the definition of terrorism*

Terrorism is the use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims or religious aims. This could be so many other things.

Maybe you should call the Orlando police department?

I'm sure they could use a corrector right now, just like this prayer thread needed one.
http://www.cnn.com/2016/06/12/us/orlando-nightclub-shooting/
Maybe they will no longer consider it terrorism after an investigation, but the OPer is not calling it anything the authorities aren't.

everywhere else it is being "investigated as an act of terrorism", but they say they do not now yet and that it is too early. You would have to think it is some form of terrorism, radical Islam or ultra right wing nut, but they say they don't know yet. We will know in a few hours.

Right Wing Nut ?

That explains it. The Liberal Media is already running wild trying to convince everyone that it's not terrorism. While it's a tragedy ,they're more concerned with how it will effect their election.

You look at the people who have problems with gay people Einstein. Moreover, Clint Van Zant, former FBI profiler, is the one who said it would likely be a far right wing person or Muslim terrorist. By the y, nobody tried to convince anyone that it isn't terrorism. Your mind is getting to you.

profilers.. They all said "extreme right wing" or Muslim extremist. It was stayed by a half dozen of the today as likely possibilities. Why does that bother you so much? You're defending extreme right wing Neo Nazi's or their ilk? Extreme is the key word.

We already know the dude was a Muslim. He was supposedly in Miami and saw two gay dudes kissing a short while back and his dad says he has been angry since then. He was born in NY. The religion of peace at it again. Pretty tolerant religion.. That's what blows me away about libs, they always protect Islam more than any religion. There is nothing liberal about Islam. I am relatively liberal too.

Amazing ppl on here trying to deter it away from being an act of Islamic terrorism which it clearly was. We need to wake up and realize we are at war with radical Islam. I have plenty of Muslim friends and realize the vast majority of Muslims are normal and peaceful people. However, the Muslim community is doing too little overall to deter extremists and extreme ideology. Extreme Islam is a cancer afflicted on the world and we need to develop chemo to keep if from reproducing and inhalation get the tumor. We also need find preventative ways to keep radicalism from occurring which should be spearheaded by the Muslim community. During wartime certain freedoms are taking away and that needs to start happening. Supporting radical Islam on social media should be convicted with long prison sentences.

Everytime something like this happens, several prominent Islamic clerics condemn the attack and condemn radicalization. Some countries have had rallied against radical Islam. The issue is that these radicals aren't real Muslims, they don't go to mosque and they rarely associate with ordinary Muslims. They stay in their circle jerk radical groups. So it's very difficult for Muslims to identify and stamp it out

The vast number of Muslims are not peace loving.

The vast number here in America are peace loving that they constitute a small portion of the world's muslim population.
It difficult to convince people who live here after living in a third world country that America is the great Satan. They appreciate being in America. It's easy to convince people who live in the slums of third world countries that we're the bad guys.

the obvious: people in this country are no longer educated

well enough to be discerning in what they read, and understand issues well enough to make up their own minds.
I remember the days in the 1970's when the debate over abortion was uniformly cast as
"pro-choice" vs. "anti-abortion" in the media.
It wasn't until the 90's that "pro-life" came into use, and interestingly enough, some shift in general opinions about "freedom of choice".
Yes, it's as simple as "pro" vs. "anti" .
It's not hard: the liberal media knows if they hit on a positive theme enough, people will start believing it no matter what the facts.
Which all leads me to point out the "hate" vs. "principle" argument.
What our liberal media wants to call "hate", in order to elicit a visceral negative reaction from the reader,
is simply a "moral principle" for some people -
they simply don't agree with the idea of "alternative lifestyles" or that "choice of sexual orientation"
is protected by the Constitution as originally written.
I've said it before on here: George W. fought Hillary's war when he went into the Middle East,
and in truth, Muslim fundamentalists only have a problem with "liberalism", not "America".
It's also notable that "sexual" liberals are fighting the social war in the Middle East
in the same way that they won it in America and Europe -
by co-opting the gender issue and selling women on the right to "debase" themselves through "choices".
It's tried and true....

I mean, it's a nightclub, so sure the difficulty level isn't the highest, but 103 casualties is still an insane number for one guy. Almost makes me think it wasn't one guy, but I unquestionably trust our media and police so it must have just been one ridiculously talented angry Muslim gun nut. Weird.

> must have just been one > ridiculously talented angry Muslim gun nut. Weird. YouTube is going to flip. Only took a few hours. I guess the club posted on Facebook to evacuate the building while the shooting was going on. Note to self, if you are getting shot at don't take the time send out an update or tweet. I know it is hard and everyone is waiting for your updates, but it can probably wait.

As we know now it was in fact over 50! This is what happens when the security of this once great country is put in the hands of an inexperienced, social worker from a state that is broke and a Solo Alinsky proponent. Unless there is an abrupt turnaround we are toast. Thanks to the Democrats who have NEVER BEENM ABLE TO PROTECT THIS COUNTRY!!

It is sufficient that 49 innocent people were killed and another 53 injured to ask for prayers for those affected.
Try convincing those family members of your political theories and rants.
We should all try to love and respect one another the best we can.
Period.
