If not, why. If so, why? I'm curious.

humans are smart. Homoerectus was around about 2 million years. Homosapiens have been around about 200,000 years. We will figure out how to survive until a gamma ray burst or something catastrophic.

Ameliorating climate change will have to be a gradual process (big ship - small rudder) but the longer we wait, the more drastic and costly the adjustments will have to be - and the more dramatic will be the resulting diseases, displacement, storms and wildfires.

Did anyone else notice that the extremely-high number of named Tropicalstorms/hurricanes? You might want to ask the residents of coastal Louisiana what they think. They got hit 4 times by hurricanes and big tropical storms.
If 95% of climate scientists are worried, does that mean anything? Of course, most of y'all deniers probably drank a quart of bleach -- as suggested by TheRump -- so y'all are probably not thinking too clearly.
TONIGHT'S NEWS FLASH: DOJ files a case against widespread bribery crimes for presidential pardons. TheRump thinks he may avoid jail if he can remain in the Whitehouse. Thrrefore, send all of your money to the TrumpPAC, as soon as possible. (FYI, even the gullible cultists have to know the TrumpPAC is a SCAM, right?)

Posts like this show how ignorant people are...citing a few specific but random events as some sort of "evidence" of anything that changes on nearly geologic timescales is silly.
Do I care if 95% of scientists agree? #### no I don't care, and here is why: 1) watch social dilemma on netflix, 2) enormous numbers of people can be made to believe anything, 3) "science" has become political and made so by non-scientific liberals who think they can understand anything in 140 characters and a 30 second Google search, 4) who are these scientists that are polled? I don't believe many should be called "scientists," 5) I am smart enough to figure it out myself.

how you or I feel about climate change. Insurance, and more importantly, reinsurance companies are worried about it. These are some pretty smart folks, who are pretty good at quantifying exposure. If they think man-made climate change is real (and they do), it’s just a matter of time before corporations become better stewards of the earth...they will have to for capital/risk management reasons. Many insurance companies and investment vehicles are already phasing fossil fuels out of their portfolios and expect companies they insure/invest in to do the same. Change is almost always an economic decision...

Our uncontrollable debt, global war, nuclear annihilation...that's the ish people need to be worrying about.
'Cause when the US defaults on its debt and it throws us all into a world wide economic depression, you're not going to be worrying about whether a polar bear has ice to sleep on.

National debt is a serious problem. Trump's spending spree was a surprise and disappointment to me. I understand a strong military including a robust nuclear weapon program is a deterrent to military aggression against America but our biggest military rival is China. Unless China was ready to totally annihilate the US they might raise a rifle but they will never shoot their biggest customer. It's just not economically practical.
Trump spending was my biggest disappointment during the last four years.

It was pass the bill or shutdown the gov't thanks to the tax and spend democrats.
No doubt, the USA is cycling out with the cycling in of socialism and lack of understanding and execution of individual responsibility.

I am not worried about it, because I will be dead within 30 years max. I think it is our responsibility to leave the environment clean though. It's like going into the woods and leaving your trash. You don't do that.

I think most conservatives would agree with that. I’m as conservative as they come and I promise you I’m as good a steward of nature, etc as you will find. We are just not willing to bow to the globalist movement.

Not worried one bit. Been hearing Algore's snake oil crap for over 20 years, yet to date, neither Miami, Charleston or Manhattan are anywhere near being under water. Eff the enviro-nazis.

We've already passed the tipping point though on polar ice melt, IMO, so we'll likely see more of the damage from sea rise in our lifetimes than many expect. Nature doesn't work in predictable, neat little lines like we'd like it to. For instance, much of the carbon dioxide we produce is being absorbed by ocean waters, but we don't really know what the capacity limit is for that absorption, so we don't really know at what point it might simply cease to function in that capacity and thus force more of these gases into the atmosphere, accelerating the greenhouse effect and the temperature rises it produces.
It's also true that rises in sea levels don't affect all coastlines and tributaries the same - oceans aren't like a glass of water. Some locales experience no signs of ocean rise while others get more of the brunt. Expansive, low lying areas like a Charleston or Miami are in greater danger of flooding sooner as the areas around them become more saturated. This causes rainwater to drain slower and slower, creating even more inland flooding problems from storms and downpours along and along.
It's foolish to think that we are entitled to a free lunch when it comes to industrial and pollutant emissions. It takes a largely liberal mind to believe that our actions are without consequences.

It is also foolish to think the status quo of EVERYTHING must remain the status quo. The earth has evolved for billions of years, but all of a sudden TODAY, RIGHT NOW in my life on this planet if there is a change it is a big problem.
Too many people use junk science and scare tactics to promote their own welfare. This produces a layer of noise that most people cannot differentiate from the signal.
I can definitely envision an Escape from New York type situation at some point in the next several hundred years. The climate will not be everyone's problem.

I certainly don't believe the status quo of EVERYTHING must remain the status quo. That's pretty extreme to say the least. How else would we have T-Net or trucks?
As far as things happening in your lifetime though - heck yes they have. Our lifetimes have seen extreme population growth along with industry, agriculture, and much else that has raced to keep up with the pace. My belief is that there are consequences that affect our climate associated with that, and that it is accelerating. I also believe in human ingenuity, and that we are capable of solving many of the problems that we create along the way. You know, when the status quo changes and all, we adapt. One of our finer attributes.
