Losing Tyson’s size, shooting, and rebounding is a big loss, and replacing him with Clark is outstanding.
We replaced Galloway with Heidbreder from Air Force. He will bring good shooting and good height for the guard position.
I’d like to see us get a big man to replace Middlebrooks if the opportunity presents itself. I really like Hall, Schieffelin, and Godfrey down low, and expect them to get most of the available minutes, but I wouldn’t mind another big who can give us solid minutes if we get into foul trouble.

Got to give credit where it’s due.
To tell the truth, I don’t know what the depth is like at his other choices (Arkansas, Xavier, Villanova), but I know those are top basketball programs in the country right now. Arkansas and Xavier had incredible years, and Villanova is Villanova.
That’s an outstanding job by Brad just to be able to battle out those schools for someone. And also to get someone as Middlebrooks just left as well. Which is now a whole weird situation with us and the Wolfpack.

I read about everything you post JK. Not much of a poster myself. I enjoy yours when they are measured and informative, and admire your support of the program and CBB. This is a good example of one of those.
Brad does seem to use the portal to his advantage. This is a good pick up. Wish I knew the inside story on Middlebrooks though. Sorry he left and don't get why. Any idea?

This is what confuses me. With continued development, I think Middlebrooks would have continued to get more minutes with Schieffelin playing more minutes on the outside to pick up Tyson’s contribution. Maybe it’s more about falling behind what Godfrey can provide inside?

To each his own. I would rather my coach love his players and recruit the best he can and not use the transfer portal. However, basketball is a different deal all together. Let’s be clear JK, you were throwing shade at Coach Swinney for not using the transfer portal, right? JK I really appreciate your BB insight and opinions, but there is no need to be negative or disrespect the best coach to ever step on campus in Dabo Swinney.

No question in my mind they need another big. Godfrey is still developing as a consistent rebounder and Schieffelin brings great effort but simply gets played over top against too many other opponents. He’s not as mobile or have Tyson’s vertical ability to offset the height. He needs to be the guy boxing out to make room for his teammates.

Since Heidbreder is having back surgery, I sure hope so. He is a long-term addition rather than a short term one. We still need to go out and get another guard.
