"Wannabe" Fans

Every school has them.
"Wannabe" fans. Fans that want to be graduates of a particular school but are not.
They are different from normal fans who did not attend.
They want it so bad that they are the most obnoxious, loud, arrogant, over the top fans.
Most people think that they obviously did attend and graduate.
Gotta love them though, they are fans and supporters.

I'm with you, Fencebuster. I live in Maryland and am a big Bolts fan. We all need at least one team to remind us what true frustration is--and the Powder Blue is still the best out there. I've also started following the Texans now, for obvious reasons. Loved me some Ladainian Tomlinson, though.

Same here. I live in NC but have been a Chargers fan since I was a boy. I did not attend Clemson either but I have been a Tiger fan since birth.

I'm a huge Wofford fan and supporter for many years, yet I went to Clemson. Now while I don't get on a Terrier site and type random crap like I do here, I consider myself to be a good fan of anything I pull for. What about the NFL and MLB? Did anyone here that talks smack actually play for any of these teams? Sit down and pull for the Tigers like the rest of us and keep your Pulse above 65.

I grew up loving Clemson football and have watched every game since the early 2000's. When it came college time I only filled out 1 application because that school was calling my name, and it wasn't CU. I could have gone to CU if I wanted to, my HS GPA and SAT scores were well above average. I still love CU football today and could care less about my alma mater's sports...I know more about Clemson football than any of my friends who graduated from there. I think the biggest difference between 'fans' and 'grads' are an overall love and appreciation for the school. I'm sure some fans can still have that especially if their children go there or grew up there but some like me don't. The only sport I care about is football...and I don't even care about the football team where I graduated.
But to rub it in your faces I'm waiting for Clemson to develop an online graduate program like NCST so I can get a masters degree remotely

Gotta disagree with you about having a second favorite team. I'm a lifelong Dawg fan but Clemson is my second because... 1) Big Dabo fan (how do you not love this guy?). 2) My son attends Clemson. 3) Nothing demoralizes or hurts Coots like Clemson winning and that's reason enough for me to pull for the Tigers.

People are fans of freedom, yet not everyone served to make that so. These kind of posts are dumb imo. I know lifelong tiger fans that never went to clemson, but are better fans than some I know that did. I had to leave after 1 semester due to some unforseen circumstances. Does that mean I don't have a right to be a fan of Clemson. Have bled orange since the day I was born. I guess your life is so miserable that you have to puff your chest or talk down to others to feel you are a "true fan". Seriously, there are way more important things to worry about, like what Trevor is gonna eat for breakfast tomorrow... grow up... I'm sure I'll get some Td's for this, and if that makes you more of a fan, then so be it.
