No one can have two first strings--or like 'Bama in the past, three. It is bringing some balance to college teams. The problem is in the poaching.

The portal could create a bigger gap between the have’s and have not’s, but I think we may actually see more parity as backups on the elite teams transfer for playing time.

I guess the question is whether NIL money can keep 2nd stringers on the strongest teams. I doubt it.

ago. Before then, the Bear Bryants of the world would sign as many players as the school would put on scholarship, and have them standing on the sidelines. Because, if they were standing on YOUR sideline, they couldn't be playing against you.

The coaches who poach will create separation until the NCAA (if they do) - does something about it.
Many instances being named, yet no names. Mack Brown said Maye has had several after him. Mack needs to name names. Get them all out in the open.
I think the real USC does it.

This means coaches really have to hit on their front line players. I suspect eventually you'll even see some kids jumping after early enrollment and spring practice. Would Tua have stayed at Bama if he knew Hurts was going to start until the playoffs? QB's will be the most notable transfers but if a 5-Star Freshman WR notices he's not getting reps in the spring it wouldn't surprise me if they don't jump.
