The Numbers Look to Favor Clemson

Sep 30, 2016, 10:29 AM

Looks like all the betting trends have Clemson winning on Saturday

http://thebigmikeblog.com/2016/09/30/the-tater-teaser-louisville-at-clemson/

This idea that Vegas tries to play it 50/50 is false.

Sep 30, 2016, 10:43 AM

Vegas definitely chooses sides. They think Clemson will win this game.

Lamar Jackson 464 yds per game 6 TDs per game
Clemson (Entire Team) 435 yds per game 4 TDs per game

Not sure what numbers that fellas looking at.

Law of averages.

Sep 30, 2016, 11:06 AM

Clemson is underperforming and UL is overperforming. UL will not score over 50 points every game this year.

Everything I stated was based on us performing below our mean!!!! Clemson has a great D, so there is no reason we dont perform to our mean. It just happens our mean numbers are big.

Agree 100% and we havent played in Death Valley thats why I have decreased expectations below our season averages. I truly believe your D will hold us just under 600 total yds and force Lamar to play some or all of the 4th quarter, something he did not do against FSU.

I predict you hold us to a season low 55 points. However if we only score 35 we still win. The post article with predictions was a complete contradiction. I like to focus on facts and do not consider the emotional side when making decisions.

The guy that wrote the article basically said, "Louisville is playing great, Clemson is not playing up to expectations, but Clemson wins by 4" What? HAHA There is no evidence Clemson will make it close other than the faith and in the heart of Clemson fans. Thats what being a fan is all about. Hey Deshaun has 9 tds this year which is great. Unfortunately LJ has 25 which is more than any other college football team not named "Louisville".

I believe Clemsons D is definitely good enough to stop Lamar Jackson or Brandon Radcliffe, or James Quick, or Jamari Staples or Jaylen Smith. I just dont think there is anyway in hel l that you can stop them all, at the same time for the entire game. Anyone predicting that believes in unicorns and big foot.

We are gonna score quickly and often. This is not a disparagement of Clemson, but to individual players and our offensive which thus far is the most potent in college football history. Please remember all the off the chart stats Louisville has accumulated thus far are with our first team only playing for 9 1/2 qtrs.

Additionally anyone of the guys I mentioned, most of which will be in NFL, are better than anyone on Troy. Troy put up 386 yds and 24 pts in Death Valley. Lamar on his own averages more than 386 yds. If you believe you can hold us to 386 yds and 24 pts, barring injury, all I can say is Good Luck!!!

On Sunday we will still be ACC brothers!!!

You might need to improve your reading comprehension. The four point projection was based on power numbers that he uses. He explains his power rankings here http://thebigmikeblog.com/power-ranking-subscriptions/

Here is what he said:

The Louisville Cardinals come into the game Saturday night with a power rating of 104 which is good for #2 in our SEC/ACC Power Rankings. The Clemson Tigers come in to the big game with a power rating of 103 and sits at #3 in our SEC/ACC Power Rankings. Clemson gets a five point power number bump for playing at home.

We project Clemson to win this game by four points. The current spread right now shows Clemson as a 1.5 point home underdog.

Re: Law of averages.

Sep 30, 2016, 12:12 PM

Thanks for your concern about my comprehension. haha I dont care what he uses. His logic is off which means his prediction is illogical. haha

Good Luck!!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Law of averages.

Sep 30, 2016, 12:44 PM

It is not logic. It is formula he uses based on SOS, yardage differential and handicapping metrics. Remember, the line opened at -2 for Clemson. That is based on power numbers used by the casinos.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He's not a Clemson fan. He's a Gamecock that hates our guts

He's using actual numbers. Reread.

I read it. If his results are Clemson +4 but using this years stats then that should tell you he has a major flaw in his formulation. Math is math whether you are a Clemson fan or a Louisville fan!!! We at least have Math in common. lol

You need to research how West Virginia started the 2012 season and see what Geno Smith's numbers were to this point in the season. Mirrors Jackson's and Louisville start it didn't end well for them that year.

Good point. Yes Genos Total Offense #s were similar to LJs. However, in total TDs and rushing yards were not. Also Geno didnt have any one on his team close to avg 100 yds per game. Our 6th highest receiver avgs 14 yds per catch. Our leading receiver avgs 25 yds per catch. Our stats are much more a team effort than WVUs were by far!!!!

Looks like his projections were pretty #### good. He projected a 4 point Clemson win and they won by 6. LMAO. I am sure you won't see this as I am sure you are in hiding right now

Let talk about the Old Harley's record against top-10 teams on the road.....

He's 5-12 against Top 10 all time.. and on the road.. I believe he is 0-10 (but i can't find that stat to back it up)?

"There's something in these hills and I suspect that's what it is - the ability of an institution through the unending dedication and greatness of its people - its administration, its faculty, its staff, its students and alumni - to impart to all it touches a respect, an admiration, an affection that stands firm in disquieting times when things around it give impressions of coming unglued." - Joe Sherman '34
