GITT with your best thanksgiving dish
Nov 19, 2021, 7:46 AM

and how do you prepare it?
Me: Boston butts over oak and pecan coals.
A good butt rub, wrap until it starts to get close to done, then unwrap for an hour

Dressin is made with cornbread. Stuffing is made with rubber

Thought you'd be a "stuffing" guy, what with your Yankee-azz lima beans and all.
Dressin' in APM's fam is my late grandmother's sage dressing. LAWWWD it was some good. Mom makes a close approximation, as do I, but the real thing resides in the Great Beyond with Grandmom.

Do you put cream cheese in yours?
Nov 19, 2021, 7:59 AM

my MIL puts cream cheese in her crockpot macaroni. I hate it. Doesn't taste like mac and cheese anymore.
That's one dish my wife actually makes better than her mother.

By using soy or almond milk.
It was inedible and she knew it.

At least, if I'm on deck for cooking the turkey. And if I am, I'm smoking that bad boy. Love how it comes out when I do.
But also love my wife's oven version, so it's a win-win either way.
My wife's mac and cheese would also make your wives go sit out in the street and weep for mercy.

I don't make it, but that's my fave. #2 already mentioned was a squash casserole
I've smoked a turkey that was off the chain, and fried a turkey that was off the chain.
I really want to try a combo one day, like I do with my wings. I think it'd be next level, but would like to try one out before Thanksgiving to see how it turns out.
I make a killer mac and cheese too, made that when dad was here last weekend w/ some prime rib.
Also...FBCoachSC® why the hayull you smoke a pork butt w/ oak and pecan? too harsh man
