Last night, on the ACCN launch show, there was a segment

where two of the hosts each picked their top five moments in the history of the ACC. Rightfully so, one had the Renfrow catch that beat Bama in 2017, as #1. And the other host had it #2, with the 1983 NC State upset of Houston for the basketball championship, #1.
So, that's fine, but I couldn't believe what was in one of them's top five, at #2! The 1974 basketball game in which Notre Dame stopped UCLA's 88 game win streak. Notre Dame wasn't even in the ACC at the time! Surely, there are plenty moments bigger than that in the ACC! That wasn't even a tournament game, just regular season! If going with basketball, to have that above Virginia's remarkable run this year, or NC State's in 1983, is ridiculous! He had those two 3rd & 5th!

natties above that, along with UVA basketball this year, NC State basketball in 1983, and though I hate to say it, UNCheat's 1957 3 OT win over Kansas & Wilt Chamberlain for the national championship.

They have those games on video but they're only on Betamax and nobody has a machine.

felt obligated to put in a football moment, so it was the most recent they could think of. And quite frankly, if you are doing a basketball game, how is the greatest game ever not on the list? NCSU and Maryland ACC title game from the 70's should rank above just about every other basketball event in the conference.

It was not only the first football national championship for Clemson, it was the first for the league in the modern era of college football and only the second ever (Maryland in 1953 was the first and was the same year the league was founded).

Just a regular season game, but the "gone in 54" game

where Duke came back from down like 8 in the last 54 seconds to win at Maryland in 2001 or 2002 was incredible as well. Both of those teams were ridiculously good.

yeah that stuff of acting like recent members have been in conf forever is silly. Its like claiming Flutie for the conf as a Heisman winner.
