Senior discounts at restaurants, Medicare, and a lifetime of conditioning from Clemson basketball which alleviates the threat of getting carpal tunnel syndrome and high blood pressure from typing walls of wasted words over the team's performance because they've ground your season expectations into a fine powder.

every year you realize more and more just how little they affect your actual life.
I used to be invested hard in about EVERY sport - NFL, NBA, NASCAR, NCAA, MLB, PGA, you name it. Whole day, even week, ruined on one outcome.
I'm now down to Clemson football and baseball, only games that even make me momentarily sigh and shrug my shoulders. And The Masters I suppose. And those are down to about 25% of how much I used to care.

There seems to be a solid 40-50% of the fan base who have no functional long term memory.

yes, with the addition that every once and awhile you snort that fine powder only to find a renewed since of optimism, that then becomes nuked in a fiery armagedon

Last time I truly watched Clemson basketball

was in the Purnell days. James May and Booker squad, I think?
Since clemson sucks at basketball, and I pretty much think basketball is a waste of time, it makes it very easy to not care nor watch any basketball.

I should have stopped caring right after the 1980 win vs Duke in LJ.

sat on a step. Got in using my student ID card even though I had graduated in Dec. I still care, but not enough to type any more.
