"the 4 best teams" is fundamentally ridiculous.
We don't know. We literally do not know the 4 best teams. We depend on RESUME to make our best guess.
FSU and Texas pass the strength of schedule test. They pass the record test. They pass the head to head vs SEC test. They pass the conference championship test.
The idea that you can watch UGA and Bama play... and know from that THAT game.... that they are better.... is arbitrary without RESUME.

We need to scrap the committee and go back to the computer.

You are on it tonight. Spitting facts and showing up the committee, it’s beautiful.
The right choices. 1 Michigan 2 Washington 3. FSU 4 Texas

Michigan straight up cheated though.
Idk why this is so hard. Michigan should be playoff banned for the next decade.

It’s not legal to buy tickets to opposing teams games and record their signals to match with formations. It’s never been legal and will never be legal at any level of competitive football

It really doesn’t seem all that complicated. Games have to matter. You can only play the games you have on the schedule.
Did Bama look great last week against Auburn? No. Or against USF? No. Did UGA look great last week against GT? No. Or SC? No. Did FSU look great tonight? No. Last week? No. But they found a way to finish 13-0, smoking LSU week one and just beat another top 15 team.
Without Travis are they the best version of FSU? No. But it’s a team sport, and the team should have the opportunity to play for a title.

If you watch football it speaks for itself who the 4 best teams are. You have to use your own to eyes. You can’t just look at paper and decide who the final 4 is lol

"If you know football, you know the best 4" is obviously not a sane metric. It's laughably arbitrary and ripe for massive differences in interpretation.
Why play games then?

If you take that approach, they shouldn’t expand the playoff. And the NFL should shrink theirs. In fact, the wild card NY Giants should have never even been in the 2008 Super Bowl…they certainly didn’t look the part.

scoreboard and strength of schedule?
UGA lost some players. Bama had injuries. Can you guarantee Bama's QB won't get injured in the next game?
It's obviously silly for people to make guesses into the future when we have resumes to look at.
Should they cancel the games when star players get hurt? Should they change the schedules if players are hurt in practice? Injuries are part of football.

You quoted stats but it was the 3rd string qb, Glenn that played. With a few weeks of practice taking most of the snaps Glenn or Rodemaker are capable of beating any of the 4 teams in the playoffs.

Do you believe FSU stands a chance in hell to heat either Georgia or Alabama? Washington? Texas? Please tell me you don’t see the conflict here and that we all share the conflict that our conference is hot trash that we couldn’t win

I believe we've always seen the best team crowned.

I haven't 'loved,' all the selections the POC included but I can remember when the BCS would crown an SEC team head and shoulders above the rest of the teams while the voters would rank teams which could challenge the SEC champ and vote up some chump team like Oregon as a sacrificial lamb to prove the total bullchit they'd been feeding the masses all year.
You'd see preseason rankings of SEC teams filling the top ten and for balance they'd put Texas, ND and So Cal in along with any team in the world that had an opening game against one of their top ten SEC teams. The entire season rested on those preseason rankings in which ESPiN talking heads influenced.
They had the world believing that an SEC loss was better than any other team's win. The most important and deciding metric was always the one which served their Network's relationship with the SEC. It was big business promoting itself, nothing but a 12 month per year advertising campaign to promote their product. It lingers still today.
At least we're seeing the SEC having to earn the crown. Overall, I believe we've seen the best team win. That's what we cried about for the entire BCS era.

I agree but why get worked up over something which has not happened? Sure the SEC fanboys are pushing hard but I don’t think they will win. My guess is the three undefeated conference champs are in. UGA is out because they did not win their conference plus had zero signature wins due to a super weak schedule. Texas and Bama have very similar resumes but Texas won H2H so they are in. It’s not really hard unless your salary depends on the SEC myth….

UGA and Alabama choose every year to take three or four bye weeks by playing cupcakes. This year Alabama chose to invite Texas for a home game. Maybe if Alabama had invited three other good matchups out of conference, they would have a better guy for me to overcome the loss to Texas
Alabama chose to play middle Tennessee, Chattanooga, South Florida in addition to SEC bottom dwellers.
Alabama and Georgia had minimum of three weeks this year to improve their résumé. They chose to play cupcakes. Stay home.

You mean a group of old self absorbed white men (I’m one. Old not self absorbed) and washed up coaches and ADs and people that have never had a helmet on their head can ignore common sense and on field results because they are brilliant and can manipulate the results to fit their narrative to get the result they have had in mind since the beginning of the season. That committe?
