There's a Journey tribute coming to do a free show in Kings Mountain

sometime in June, I think. I'm not a huge Journey fan, like some songs, but I have it as a possible on our live music calendar. Gotta figure if they're getting paid by the city, they at least have to be competent musicians and most likely the frontman can sing. We'll see how it shakes out.

the dilemma with a Journey or Journey tribute concert for me would be

the songs they would be required to play would be the exact ones someone like me would absolutely detest. (ex. "Don't Stop Believin", "Open Arms"). Overplayed radio stuff.

If there was a Journey or Journey tribute band that played "Where Were You" or "Dead or Alive", I'd dig that. They have some great deep cut stuff.

Roanoke had a Journey tribute band w/ tribute Kansas band many yrs ago

in a stadium since torn down. Not youge fan of either, but both did a good job. Hey, didn't Journey hire a guy from a Journey tribute band to take Steve Perry's place when he went solo, so there's that.
