looked at as Clemson's out. Has given me the most hope yet. Apparently, Clemson and some of the larger schools in the ACC have the competitive revenue clause and we all can see where that is heading.

Interesting the guy based in Charlotte who covers the ACC claims to have read the GOR and says there is a “competitive revenue clause” in it. I wonder if that’s true? If so, maybe there is a way out.

I have grass to watch grow and will let the schools and ACC figure it out IF any ACC school gets an invitation.

While contract law is not my field of expertise, I just read over the Agreement and saw no such clause. Also, while I've seen some on message boards hold the opinion that the GOR is voided if another school joins the conference, that does not appear to be the case. The way I read the agreement is no other school can join the conference without signing the GOR agreement, and the conference schools continue to be bound by it.
Here is the Agreement: https://cdn.theathletic.com/app/uploads/2022/07/01185531/ACC-Grant-of-Rights-1.pdf

That is the prior agreement of 2013. There is a newer agreement. It as not been publicized to my knowledge. Hopefully this clause was added.

Hope you're right. For some reason I was under the impression that the new agreement was just a rubber stamped extension of the one linked above.

I just noticed Swofford’s middle initial is “D”. I guess we all know what that stands for.

If that guy is correct, then Clemson will indeed be in the SEC shortly.

I agree the guy may be full of it. I don't know who he is.
But IF he is correct that some schools have competitive revenue clauses, then that would be a very big deal. The 2013 version of the GOR that everyone is looking at says nothing about that manner of clause.
Time will tell if he is correct or full of it.

Again, this is the PRIOR version of the GOR. They certainly may have added a clause to the current GOR.
