isnt that against NCAA rules? Maye isn't in the portal and I thought you could not talk to a player that was on another team

But players on their team can. That's how the tampering is being done - you have to prove the coaches told the players to contact a potential transferee for it to be against the rules, but they are too smart to make it a direct order or suggestion. At least most of them are.

If Maye initiated contact, then not so much. If Kirby or any UGA coaches initiated contact, then it's obvious tampering. Of course, if Maye is interested and both sides are asked, they'll say he initiated contact. If an NIL deal is involved, then UGA had to be considering it before contact. Recruiting and transferring is difficult to impossible to police now especially when sleazy teams have had plenty of practice.

That would be a good call for Maye. Bottom line is the game has changed and we will have to adapt. Places like Georgia will be a factory.

I think we will adapt in one way or another. I think things will get harder. Dabo, staff, and players will have to work even harder. Things are getting ratched up. It's no things as they were any more.

thread about the talk that some school, not sure if Georgia or Alabama, think it’s Alabama, was offering $10 million.
He was commmitted to Bama out of HS but switched because MB convinced him they would win at UNC. I think he knows the deal now.
He’s probably gone and going to get paid unless the wine and cheese pony up. Don’t see it unless we are talking basketball.

UGA gets him ... Saw ex-UGA HC and current consultant Jim Donnan at SAV QB CLUB last week. Donnan intimated if UGA wants someone they will find a way to legally get in touch and make it happen ... and won't be turned down.

Heard from UNC fan this morning that Alabama is making a big push and the number he heard was $17M. No way to verify that but this is getting stupid. Certainly don’t feel sorry for coots but they are a prime example of why mid or lower tier teams will never compete in this environment.

While everybody else is looking in the portal for a QB Kirby is looking at top notch experienced QBs so he can stack 3 Nattys back to back to back. And there really isn’t anything anybody in this once-great sport can do about it. Sickening
