The Clemson vs Coot game - Gameday?

2

Nov 12, 2024, 8:49 AM

is shaping up to be a top 15 matchup if both pull out the win this weekend.

Both teams could very well be playing for playoff consideration. Certainly not playing for sure fire bid but consideration nonetheless.

The games that weekend that would usually garner Gameday visits would be

Alabama/Auburn (yawn)
Ohio State/Michigan (yawn)
Georgia/GT (yawn)
USC/ND (yawn)
Tenn/Vandy (yawn)
Ole Miss/Miss St (yawn)
Louisivlle/Kentucky (who cares?)
VT/UVA (Who cares?)
Florida/FSU (this game could be on espn+ and no one would care)

What remains?

USCjr/Clemson
Texas/Texas A&M

One game is for playoff consideration.

The other could be an SEC Championship appearance elimination game.

I think gameday will ultimately end up in College station but gameday went there for the ND game. Will they consider that and end up in Clemson?

They'll be going to Texas-Tx A&M most likely

Especially if SECCG stakes are involved, plus it's 1st game back in that rivalry since 2011.

ESPN would rather slam their d***s in a sliding glass door than have to feature an ACC team this late in season.

You're probably right.***

Would love it to be Clemson-SC but it’ll most likely be Texas-A&M

Appreciate you bringing this up and doing the research.

I think there’s a legit shot we get Gameday.

Bc Gameday will def be at the SECG - barring like PennSt/OSU championship.

I don't think so . . .

I think the renewal of the Tx vs. TxAM rivalry (hasn't been played in what, 12 years?) under the auspices of the SEC banner is inevitably going to be way too much for the ESPN behemoth to resist. I Think there's categorically zero chance they won't go there. That game encapsulates everything they are in league with the SEC (sorry for the pun) to advertise - expansion, a "new era," and the prominence of those programs.

Tell 'em nothing since 1969 coot. No one knows losing better than you.

What did he say wrong? All he did was

prognosticate that ESPN might select somewhere else for gameday. He might turn out to be right, or he might be wrong, but he's not trashing Clemson.

He said nothing wrong

C80T just obsesses over certain posters and and gets off on trolling them all day every day. and B-Meist® and Crump® just continue to allow it.

Yep. Meist and Crump are thus weak and lame for so doing . . .

Yeah this clemson80tiger should have been banned YEARS ago. Most arrogant disrespectful poster on here and STILL has a pulse in the 90s!!!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He's also sorta dumb . . .

Nov 12, 2024, 1:01 PM

but yes, arrogance is his main problem.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I think it'll be Oregon vs Ohio State

Nov 12, 2024, 11:02 AM [ in reply to Re: The Clemson vs Coot game - Gameday? ]

and gameday will be there for that. Unless both Texas and Tenn win out there isn't anyway around the SECCG having a 2 loss team in Atlanta. And even if they did I think they'd choose undefeated Oregon vs 11-1 Ohio State. Assuming Ohio State beats Indiana of course. If it ends up being Oregon vs Indiana it'll be interesting what they doo because then that pits 2 undefeated teams in Indianapolis.

Not sure Tenn-Vandy is a yawn ****

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Vandy will be 6-5

Nov 12, 2024, 9:59 AM

Definitely a yawn.

2025 white level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Probably, but Vandy did

Nov 12, 2024, 10:53 AM

beat Alabama, gave Texas all they could handle, and three of their four losses are to ranked teams. Not saying it's a legit Gameday candidate, but the matchup shouldn't be considered a yawn by anyone. Tenn has already dropped one to lesser competition this year (Ark).

Don't think the Texas vs Texas A&M game will get passed over for Gameday, but i could see Gameday in Clemson for the season opener against LSU next year.

Even if both Texas and TA&M loose this week...it still means more.

So regardless of GameDay what time slot do we get?
