The BV HC Thread has got me thinking

and that's dangerous. Hypothetically speaking, let's say BV leaves for a HC job. What DC would come close to matching or be just as good as him we could possible obtain? Let's say we can get anybody in the country. Who would you think it should be?

We could do lots worse than Ellis Johnson. In fact we did although I am glad to see KS seems to have rebounded. How much better could Dabo's start have been with EJ as DC? I said back then it would kill two birds with one stone. Or we could have gotten Muschump from Texas back then like so many wanted and solved all our problems right? We wouldn't have Dabo or BV now.
I hope BV stays at least until Dabo can promote from within, but EJ could be just what we need as a transition if BV does leave this year.
I listen to EJ about every Friday on Teddy's show now and he talks like he is ready to get back in the game. He said he was watching film for a few people. He mentioned maybe trying the pros recently though too. Maybe he is getting tired of the recruiting wars.

he would and CAN wait for whatever job he wants ....
also -- he can see what is happening at Clemson
• let's face it -- This year is turning out awesome if we can get by 2 MORE BIG challenges (fsu & miami)
• Next year was "gonna be our year"
our D is a HUGE part of our success
what job does he want ? OU? something in Texas
I don't think he just takes any old job
plus does he wait 2 (?) more years for his kids to get out of high school? (when is that?)
I think after next year it gets really harder to keep him

candidates sitting in his drawer. He is smart enough to plan ahead for what he knows is eventually coming. But, I also believe BV when he says it would have to be a really special opportunity for him to leave us. He knows he has a great situation here, that will remain great for years to come.
