Georgetown (DC market - massive)
St Johns (NYC market - even more massive)
Marquette (Wisconsin market)
Creighton (Nebraska market)
UCONN (Connecticut market)
Notre Dame (Indiana/Chicago market)
That would put at 20 teams and I think would make an unstoppable force in College Athletics. Football will dominate those teams (outside of ND). Basketball team will get destroyed, but what's new. Soccer, Lacrosse, etc will be challenged but nothing we can't handle.
Can you imagine the pomp and circumstance of Duke vs UCONN in basketball. ESPN will drool all over themselves. Clemson vs St Johns in Madison Sq Garden. Would be epic.

It’s all about football and none of those teams, with the exception of Notre Dame (who isn’t coming anyway) adds any value to ACC football.

approach and add overall value to us and others like us in the league by splitting out the football powers into their own division for football, with the remainder doing similar on the other side, while keeping all other sports under one roof.

For football, schedule 6 games in-division and two cross. The top division could add a 9th league game as a home game every year from the other (5/4 for upper, 4/5 for lower - they're not putting their stadiums to use as it is on their own) to act as that annual G5 sort of fill in.
Much better weekly slate of football to offer with bigger crowds and stadiums more often (which the top division would be solely rewarded for), keeps it geographically sound, and solid in all other sports.
For an ACCCG in football pit the two division winners against each other. This would allow for a lower division team having a Cinderella-type year an opportunity to claim a league title and auto-bid.
Re Notre Dame - have 4 of their current 5 league games be against the upper division for a little extra media rights bang.
