That last play in overtime with Ross would have been called PI in any other conference with the champs on the ropes.
This conference is a joke and Clemson should make the move to Big 10 or 12.

Refs hurt us several times with obvious bad calls that targeting on us was a joke then with review did not confirm he still gave us a roughing passer penalty You could see on his face the feeling of I’ve got to call something Refs we’re over their head in that game

It should have never come down to a 4th and 5 in double OT. If our offense played half as well as they have in the past, even with the crap penalties we blow NC State off the field and walk out of Raleigh with a win and nowhere near as many injuries.

This isn't the past... we have to deal with what we have... opponents getting extended drives with marginal or bad calls should not be part of the equation. We get the most bizarre calls and no matter who we play their punter is the best in the country on that day.

The rules are normally....you have to knock out the champ because you will lose in a decision. In the ACC the refs do everything to help knock out the champs.

The SEC certainly knows what to do to protect the brand- at ALL costs. It’s obvious week after week. Auburn yesterday- no way they let Ga State embarrass the brand.

The refs didn’t cost us the game but I agree they total sucked.
Educate me; I thought a D lineman could jump into the neutral zone without contact as long as he wasn’t offsides when the ball is snapped. Why were those called?

What was the deal with dead ball call on the early pass to Ngata? That guy stepped across, then tried to get back, and then they say play was stopped for "unabated to the qb". What?

If a defensive player enters the neutral zone and "attacks" the defender the defender can jump if he is reacting to the defensive player. Where the crossing into the neutral zone occurs matters because only the player head up or on either side can "react" (if it a guard, the center and tackle can react) If the defender is in the gap then only the two players left and right of the defender can "react"... the reaction is supposed to be a football move. What the NC State players were doing was not a football move, the play on Spector the tackle was trying to touch Spector to draw the infraction. That is not in the rule.
In the picture you can see 79 is trying to make contact with Spector.
Really Bad call... one of many.

Although the head referee does not call all of the penalties, he is by far the worse ref in the ACC. I watched a lot of games yesterday and it seems to me the officials get worse every year. The SEC refs are no better than ours, as both are pretty sorry.

Yeah, the world owes Clemson every call. We should have been good enough to have never been in that position. No ref is going to let his whistle determine the outcome of a game unless it is 100% obvious. No call was correct.
