land tend to attend games and loudly cheer on their teams when the teams are winning.
When performance lags, so does support.
Why? Because the American people like winners; they despise losing...always have, always will. It's in our character, our psyche, if you will...and no amount of coaxing is going to change that.
Keep a highly successful team on the field of play, and the fans will show and yell their heads off. Lose, and they won't.
And if you reflect a moment, you'll find that axiom true about most ventures in our lives....

The crucial difference b/t Dabo and Leggett's comments

Were that Dabo's comments were about a team that was struggling early on in his career, and he was promising great things to come. Leggett's come at what appears to be the declining years of his career, and it's questionable whether there are better years ahead with him. And he promised nothing. He's almost like the Sheriff in "No Country for Old Men"...a good man, but life has passed him by.
I'm a fan of the program and the team. Sometimes being a fan of the program means realizing when it needs change.

Jack is saying, if you have no confidence in him and his arrogant ways, you are not a Clemson fan. Sounds like our organizer in chief. Well, Jack, this is the most underachieving team I have seen in a long time. You and Pep continue to make the same mistakes over and over. Changes must be made, but I am afraid you are not man enough to admit your shortcomings.

I've accused you of being a sunshine pumper before, so it's good to see you support us realist fans. Of course there are the folks that are negative no matter what (go look at STS), but you're right. Some just want to see the program move in the right direction and are upset when that is not happening. Jack was wrong about what he said and you're right to call him out for it.

Sounds like a smart ### coach who ought to get fired! Jack is not dumb, he knows that he and his team are not getting the job done ( and we are not getting rid of the players ). He has two choices--make significant changes as Dabo did with his coordinators and coaches, or step aside. Pissing off some of the fan base with smart remarks will not help his cause. I agree with one of the other posters, seeking to achieve and maintain athletic excellence for all Clemson teams is a reasonable fan expectation given where we've been and what we have to offer in Tigertown. Jack should address the declining performance of the baseball team honestly and say what he is going to do to change it.
