JD Vance and here is a summary of the questions:
1. How are you approaching your new opponent and the new ticket? (in reference to it changing to Harris/Walz vs Biden/Harris)
2. What do you think about Walz calling you wierd?
3. You've criticized Walz's military record - do you honor his service?
4. Donald Trump avoided the draft by having "bone spurs" - do you find that shameful?
5. Will a Trump/Vance administration seek to ban Mifepristone (abortion drug)?
6. Question challenging Trump's agreement with each State deciding their own abortion laws.
7. Question regarding Vance's 3 year old "childless cat lady" comment
8. Harris has step kids, Pete Buttigieg has adopted twins. Do you recognize them as parents and more broadly as being part of families?
9. Do you agree a President should have a say in the Federal Reserve and how it handles interest rates?
10. Statement about Donald Trump questioning Kamala Harris' racial identity that ends with - "Do you believe Kamala Harris is black?"
11. Will you debate Tim Walz?
Bash had Vance in a interrogation chair for 24 minutes and all she could do was ask what amounts to mostly political noise BS that is of no real consequence to the average American.
Not a single policy question on the many serious challenges Americans are facing or things that greatly impact our lives. No questions on inflation, illegal immigration/border security, the national debt, balancing the nations budget, meeting our future energy needs, economic policies to posture the nation for growth, National security challenges with China, Russia, and Iran, the future solvency of Social Security and Medicare etc... Nothing, nada, zilch...
This interview is a prime example of why I find almost no value in the Corporate Media. They have no real interest in discussing the things that actually matter to most Americans and instead spend most of their time focusing on political noise BS. It's like a bad adult version of stupid High School "he said/she said" arguments.
The Corporate Media 24/7 news channels focus on the political noise BS in order to drive all their politically biased, echo chamber programming whose sole purpose is stir up emotion driven controversies in the hopes of attracting viewers. Actually discussing specifics of a candidates policy positions and how we are going to pull our country out of it's fiscal death spiral or tame inflation that is hurting families - meh...that's too hard and requires actual intellectual energy.
How about discussing inflation and what a candidate plans to do about it?? Nope - the Corporate Media has gotta talk about some sarcastic mean thing this guy said years ago about childless cat ladies and then interview some childless cat ladies who are offended. Never mind that there are real problems out there with most Americans struggling to pay their grocery bills or that home ownership for young couples is becoming a distant dream.

ESPECIALLY since Trump and Vance have made those topics issues instead of addressing policy themselves. She wouldn't be asking those questions if they didn't go down the stupid road.
1. Why wouldn't she ask this question? 2. The weird thing has become a valid topic because, well, their behavior is very strange. 3. There's no way you can argue she shouldn't ask this. 4. A very valid question since Trump and Vance are essentially calling Walz a coward yet Trump weaseled out of service. 5. How is this not a policy issue? 6. Same as $5. 7. A question about a comment that alienates and attacks millions of voters? Shouldn't he address that? 8. He ridiculously lumped Harris into those comments even though she has step children. 9. This is policy! Trump is trying to change it so the president should have this control (and not a #### one of you should agree with him). Also, this ties into inflation. 10. If you don't want this to be an issue, don't make it one. 11. And... you have a problem with that because...?
Sorry, your post just reads, "I don't like the media asking my guys tough questions."
They have no real interest in discussing the things that actually matter to most Americans and instead spend most of their time focusing on political noise BS. It's like a bad adult version of stupid High School "he said/she said" arguments.
Corporate media also does focus studies that show this is EXACTLY what the American people want. Sorry, I don't like it either, but that's where we are as a society now.

I'd rather read questions like
describe your relationship with David Sacks and Peter Thiel, You have been quoted as saying that Democracy no longer works, please elaborate What are your thoughts on replacing the US dollar with Crypto What are your thoughts on expanded executive power and the repeal of the Chevron Doctrine What steps would your administration take to strengthen Social Secuity What are your thoughts on Climate change and a plan moving forward. Who should control AI, and where should the gains go, to the people, or to a handful of tech corporations? Should the gains of Automated labor be felt by all, or just the industrialists who employ them What are your thoughts on the future economy, how do we re-train workers who lose their jobs to Automation? What fears do you have of AI and its impact on society IS it true your administration will seek to control and filter content on the Internet? If given power over agencies like the FCC, what would be you goal? Why has every main stream reporter turned into a Giant Pvssy lately, and legitimately seem afraid of yourself and trump.

It’s not corporate media it’s better described as media outside of fox and fringe nutcase media.
Media outlets are simply calling out Trump as he continuously lies.
Fox is a jumbled mass of fake news and lies and con artists. The rest of American media makes a few attempts to counter Rupert Murdoch’s fake news and BS.
If Fox News is your primary news source, you are gullible you have been conned and you do not have a full understanding of what is going on in the world around you. But go ahead and send your money to Donald Trump. 🤣😆😁😂

candidate proposes to do to address the daily issues the American deal with: inflation, energy costs, illegal immigration, crime, house affordability, social security, health costs etc... But they simply don't care.
Oh the Corporate Media are very adept at ensuring the political noise is "valid" from the perspective of "he actually said xyz" but that doesn't make it important or worthy of wasting time to discuss. IMO there were only 2 questions of her 11 that were worthy of that interview time - abortion and Federal Reserve. Everything else was simply worthless chit-chat about ultimately meaningless garbage that will do nothing to address the serious issues the country is facing.
And no.. those were not "tough questions" but were meaningless political noise "gotcha questions" that CNN hoped would give them another news cycle soundbite from which to continue the political kabuki dance. The fact that JD Vance answered those questions rather well is meaningless because we learned NOTHING of how a Trump/Vance administration would address actual issues facing Americans.
Part of the reason we get bad Federal Governance from both political parties is that the media and candidates themselves would rather spend most of their time throwing flaming turds of political noise at each other. It's easier to just say these people are "weird" than to actually address the Federal Debt and have a serious discussion of how they are going to specifically address it. It's easier to just call people names and say outlandish garbage to distract from the lack of real policy solutions behind the "he said something mean" game.
Maybe I expect too much but serious interviews by a "respected journalist" should not be about refuting/discussing every BS political flaming turd being flung at a political stump speech. As a serious journalist - you get one BS question to address a worthless flaming turd but all the others should be daggers at the heart of what a candidate proposes to do to address America's problems. And keep digging in those policy answers to force them to provide DETAILS or prove the candidate has no real policy details from their lack of ability to provide them.
But instead we get this endless self licking ice cream cone - the media love the BS flaming turds because it makes for easy soap opera news cycle fodder and the politicians find the turds easy to lob in order to avoid real, intellectual policy discussions. Meanwhile, nothing is solved, the people elect morons to office based on flaming turd BS and in turn we get idiot run Governance and $31(+) Trillion in Federal debt. But hey - at least we know that Tim Walz lied about carrying a weapon in combat and that JD Vance made a mean sarcastic comment about "childless cat ladies"....
So where's the adult in the room to stop the self licking ice cream cone process? The Corporate Media could and should be that adult if they had the courage and intellectual ability to do it. They could stop promoting this endless cycle of political noise and instead nail the candidates feet to the floor on policy discussions. Expose those candidates that have no real solutions.... But they don't - they like being a part of the BS circus as much as the politicians and simply tell us - "it's not our fault - you the viewers want this garbage"...

Heh. You have a lot of journalism experience, Tabby?
I could go on and on about the problems with media today, and you and I would probably agree on many points. But here, you whiff.
And no.. those were not "tough questions" but were meaningless political noise "gotcha questions" that CNN hoped would give them another news cycle soundbite from which to continue the political kabuki dance. The fact that JD Vance answered those questions rather well is meaningless because we learned NOTHING of how a Trump/Vance administration would address actual issues facing Americans.
They were tough questions, and it's naïve to think Vance wouldn't be expecting them. Here's the thing: Trump and Vance have decided it's not about the issues but instead attack, attack, attack. So you can't fault a reporter who focuses on those attacks. Vance's start to this race has been one filled with dumb comments and a lot stupidity. It's worth addressing.
Do the media want to focus on the flaming turds. Of course. This is not new... it's older than you and me.
But what helps keep them away from the flaming turds is for the candidates to stop ######## them out. Vance could easily have deflected to issues and policy, and in regards to some of those questions you listed, it was about policy.
Here's the thing: Walz's military service DOESN'T ####### MATTER in this race, but Trump and Vance have made it an issue. Vance ####### a couch doesn't matter, either, but the Dems made it an issue.
You cite the economy--well, she asked about the federal reserve, one of Trump's most radical proposals (and copied straight from Project 2025).
If Vance wants to talk issues, then he should S T F U with attacking people without children, criticizing Walz's military record, and a plethora of other stupid ####.

Silly me - I thought professional journalism was about fact finding and

informing the public.
I'm not a house painter but can tell when a paint job hasn't been done well. I'm not a vet but I can still tell the difference between a cat and a dog. Likewise, I'm not a journalist but when a story is poorly written or an interview is not done well - it's not hard to tell.
I guess we just have some fundamental differences on what makes a question "tough". Giving Vance the anticipated flaming turd subject of Walz's military service was a gimme. One that as you said - Vance fully expected but also one that Bash really wanted because it was ripe for another soundbite. So was it really a "tough question" about an important matter or what I found it to truly be - a waste of time.
IMO - a tough question would be something like this: Senator Vance - item 3 of your GOP platform states: "End inflation, and make America affordable again". EXACTLY how will a Trump/Vance administration do that? What specific actions will your administration take to end inflation?
As a hard nosed reporter - dig into Vance's answer to that question. Don't settle for some generic answer of "we'll create millions of new jobs and inflation will disappear" bullshid. Dig into his guts for the specifics of how they will end inflation or prove that their platform statement is simply hot air with no real plan behind it. Bash could go down the whole 20 item GOP platform to get their policy specifics to do what they say they will do or show they have no real ideas behind the statements and prove they are all full of shid. THIS is what journalists should be doing to inform the public of something that matters.
An unrelenting reporter digging into a candidates actual policy solutions and mining the details - IMO that would be a lot tougher interview than these adversarial flaming turd discussions. It would also expose who is selling BS policy from those that have a real plan and in the long run would do a service to the American people.

Sure, that would be great. But you know good #### well the masses don't want that when it comes to TV news. They want the flaming turds. And the networks know this.
If you want substance in an interview, go with a newspaper.

It’s so patently obvious that the MSM does not treat the other side the same way.
The media for years under Biden has had limited access to Biden with remarkably few press conferences.
Harris has been skating for weeks now without holding a press conference despite the very unusual process that has transpired to put her at the top of the ticket.
I don’t mind the mean girl superficial questioning if it’s applied equally.
It isn’t.
I don’t recall someone in the vein of Dan Rather, Sam Donaldson or Jim Acosta giving a Dem president or candidate grief.

And don't forget you'll never see a Dem voluntarily do a hostile interview like both Vance and Trump do regularly. Yet it's the left that always talking about how scared each of them are while their candidates refuse to talk to anyone at all, much less an interviewer from the other side. Gutless and idiotic is how the left must prefer their candidates.

No discussion on any real policy other than abortion and Federal Reserve (and that Fed Reserve was not really a policy discussion).
Nothing on the Federal Debt, immigration, economy, energy, national security, foreign policy, etc.... In other words - 24 minutes of mostly nothing of substance that matters...

the Fed Reserve....
IMO - The Trump Fed Reserve comment is a typical no filter brain to mouth Trump remark where he says shid and more than likely has no deep thoughts behind it. He's not the only politician to be stupid in this way but he does it way too often.
So I have no problem with Bash going after Vance on this other than she used the phrasing "direct the Fed" instead of Trump's phrasing "have a say in the Fed". Having a "say" is not the same as "directing" and Bash should be more accurate in her question though Vance corrected her.
Reporters should force Trump/Vance to state an actual position instead of a generic "A President should have a say" and dig into their guts over it. Specifically what does "have a say with the Fed" mean? A vote on interest rates? A seat at the table when the Feds meet?? It is completely fair for Bash to crush their nuts on this to get specifics of this statement from the Trump/Vance campaign.
But the other 18 minutes of that interview were wasted outside those 2 questions. If the media were to focus on policy and the candidates refused to discuss - then we all have our answers - the candidates have no real policy or their policy is so bad the public would hate it. If the media focuses on the circus topics (which they do the majority of the time) - the candidates gleefully oblige those questions because the circus comments require no real depth to answer and are almost always superficial emotional responses that feed mindless echo chambers.
Yes - Trump/Vance should stop clowning and turn every flaming turd into a policy discussion. Every waking moment of the GOP should be hammering the last 4 years of the Biden/Harris administrations policy failures and how they are going to get us back on the right track. Republicans can win on a policy focused election. Make it about the flaming turds and chances are they will lose.
But good luck getting Trump to stick to the policy arena. He is an undisciplined block head and I said as much in a previous post regarding the Kamala Harris identifies as black flaming turd discussion:
"Trump is so politically stupid at times and allows stupid topics like this to become the press occupation instead of an actual policy agenda. For once it would be nice if that orange-faced blockhead would simply answer any racebaiting with: "I don't care about Kamala's heritage or gender. What I do care about is her demonstrated incompetence and what her ideological framework and policy agenda are going to do to the working people of this country".... But no... as sure as the sun will rise - Trump takes the bait 100% of the time and always steps on his crank where we get yet another news cycle of echo chamber BS instead of focusing on the policy differences that really matter."

Hey Plague - you say ……. “no real consequence to the average American“
Then why did Trump and Vance initiate discussion on these issues?
Harris being black Cat ladies Walz's military record Etc
All the questions asked were perfectly reasonable.
I doubt Vance had any trouble with any of these questions. He’s not a snowflake. He can handle it. Trump and Vance put these issues out on the table. They want these issues to be discussed.
I agree, some of these issues are irrelevant, but Trump and vance brought these issues to the table.
