we lost to. We were dominated by a team that lost to Marshall and the coots with the most anemic passing game I can remember ever. Throw in the fact that people were iffy on Dabo's coordinator hires going into the season and people are ticked.

Ugly not ugly we are 10-2. No one will remember this as the tear we won ugly ten years from now. Most of the complaints are unfounded. And ugly

That’s exactly what I meant. He said “ I come to TigerNet and look at some of the posts and wonder if we are 2-10!!!”. I meant TNet has been ugly. I think MfO understood.

3 years of frustration coming out
Nov 27, 2022, 8:00 PM
|
|
True, covid 2020 was no one's fault but frustrating still the same. But then we get fans back in 21 and stoked over the moon with the opener against uga. Have a dismissal showing against them, only to find out that was just the tip. Excited about this season, defense is loaded, promise that offense would be better. Then at the end of the day, it's not much different than last year.
Are some of the posts ridiculous. Absolutely. But by and large it's frustration because most realize we have problems that need to be addressed. Really should be glad people are frustrated and lashing out.

It’s like Ken Hatfield said about the angry fans at his introductory press conference:
Nov 27, 2022, 8:06 PM

“At least they care enough to show up.”
Currently, we care and we show up. But as the playoff appearances become farther and farther in the past, people will start to question why they pay so much for season tickets and why they devote most or all of their weekend to Clemson football.
Sure, plenty will still go because they enjoy tailgating and socializing, but people are only going to give our coaches a pass for so long if we keep underachieving.

If this were true, Tommy Bowden would still be our coach.

We are holding on because of great past recruiting on the defensive side of the ball especially but....
The decline doesn't happen overnight. Slowly WR talent has decreased, and we are headed that way with RB recruiting.
Soon all our great DL studs (who have under-performed btw) will be gone and our lack of quality DE recruiting will be expose our DL.
We signed Williams and Adams but we don't seem to be signing any real quality this year. We missed or didn't develop EJ, and Collins (2).
We refuse to use the portal no matter how lacking some teams like WR are this year.
Anyone who has an objective eye can see the decline. It's not even debatable at this point.

in the country. No argument on WR talent, and it is THE place we finally need to utilize the portal this year. Unfortunately, that's now a highest bidder arena

It’s because we lost, we didn’t get beat. Feels like we didn’t put our best effort out there. People aren’t complaining after the Natty when Bama BEAT us, when OSU BEAT us, when even Pitt beat us in 2016, or when LSU somewhat took us to the shed in the natty. Getting beat and putting your best effort on the field everyone can get behind. Playing scared/conservative/whatever the **** you want to call it just doesn’t sit well with people.

All I can say is 20 years from now all the average fan will remember is how the heck did we win 10+ games (possible ACCCG pending) with the clown show at OC and one of the statistically worst QB's to wear a Clemson jersey and then we will remember the amazing national championship caliber defense we had last year and underperforming yet still good defense this year. Then we will remember "Oh, yeah, the ACC wasn't very good and our running backs and defense carried the heck out of our teams in 2021-22". That's all it'll be remembered for 20-30 years down the road for the average fan. Book it.

To be honest, that 10-2 is smoke and mirrors with how bad this offense has been. If the offense had been explosive and dominant in games and laid 2 eggs I get it, but that has not been the case. It has been terrible, and honestly week to week I think we are wondering how we score what we do. It is never in sinc.
If our talent cannot completely dominate the opponent, Streeter has no answers. He is a Clemson guy and I will always pull for him, but he had been awful.

Remember for two years we couldn’t use our camps
Nov 28, 2022, 3:18 AM
|
|
We couldn’t go see players or get them on campus at camps for 20 & 21, it hurt our recruiting, scouting and ability to see the best talent live and get to know them like we have in the past.
We are playing catch-up in many ways but Dabo is an incredible coach who will figure it out.
Let’s go Tigers! Let’s be great in the future as we grow from the past!
