That's the rumor and I imagine that helps solidify our standing with R Smith

If my memory serves me correctly, I believe Randy Edsall was the coach stating he was glad to be a part of a "real football" conference. Hmmm.....I see how that's working out for him, now. He is such an arrogant schmuck.

umd started down the wrong path when they let king ralph

go hoping to reel tony franklin back in. some people might not remember franklin was named head coach in waiting there.
that whole athletic department should have been flushed with the mismanagement that went on there.
i know some folks are happy with UofL over UMD, but i'd like to have them both.

Debbie Yow completely f*cked over their entire athletic department, both in terms of personnel and finances.

Exactly! And she's on her way to doing the same thing to NCSU.

she took over a crap show at umd, was there for ~20 years

and did a lot of really good, strong things although fighting with williams was not one. haha
the AD after her was the hammer in letting king ralph go thinking he could get franklin back which ended with a big fat NO.

not entirely true although her feud with williams was bad

medicine for her tenure.
she was there a long time and took over a terrible situation. she left and the guy after her is the one that got rid of then ACC COTY king ralph.
maryland had been in financial trouble[much deeper] before yow got there. she actually reeled it in, but fighting with williams did her no favors in and around dc/maryland.
i wish maryland had not knee jerked their way to the B1G.

She did reel it in for a time, but in the 2000's she spent money like crazy...money they didn't have.

much of that had to do with maryland the school, if you look

at her tenure it's hard not to be impressed with what she took over, how she reeled it in then what she accomplished.
it was much better off with numerous national titles when she left. maryland sort of hung their own Athletic Department out to dry. There was infrastructure & things that have to be addressed.

Won't have too big of an impact as long as they keep Corey Robinson, but we still lead regardless

be pampered, take his visits and get the full recruiting experience without disrespecting Clemson and I can respect that. If he committed elsewhere it would be the most surprising loss of a recruit I have seen for us.

Next head man could keep his mentor, and if the new coach is a good recruiter, that could help. Edsall is inept and tone deaf. He probably hurt Shaq's recruiting more than he helped it.
