Fad!
Let's hear if for EV's...they're gonna save the world. Of course, if everyone in Japan, for instance, gets an EV, that's fine, per a Japanese minister...but the lights at home will go out. The cart (EV) before the horse (power).
Perhaps the portal...and NIL are today's bright, shiny new 'must have'...but the foundation to support both hasn't been established sufficient to support their grandiose promise. For those sticking to the slow, but steady combustion engine (recruiting with integrity), maybe they're actually playing the long game. Maybe...

EVs out here where I live are great. All new construction is required to have solar panels. Most people then get something similar to the Tesla charge wall to store the power and charge their vehicles or power their homes with
Sure, in the summer when it’s 110-115, everyone home running their acs, the grid gets tested, but with the addition of more solar that should ease the demand on the grid
Just sayin It ain’t always what’s good for the goose is good for the gander, i think it would really help if socially and politically we stop trying to pretend like it is
Cheers friend

Using an analogy, not passing judgement whatsoever. That's in part why I used the Japanese reference.
Of course, with my handle, it's only natural my primary language slip in here and there. English is my second language! The shirt is a favorite!

NIL does not seem sustainable in its present state. Schools are going to get tired of the one-year-and-portal players.
