With that said, can we please get the soccer team on the same page with every other Clemson sport regarding our mascot? I'm not sure who gave "United" the green light, but from my perspective it's...
A) Not our school mascot. B) Not original.
Now there may be a very good reason that this was allowed, and admittedly, I know very little about soccer, but I do know a tremendous amount about team building and school pride. This does not feel like that.

Most of the US soccer clubs are modeling themselves after EPL teams (you'll have to look that up too); and, just like the NFL with CFB, things often filter down from MLS to college soccer. United is a commonly used phrase like FC or sporting in European football.

Media? Because united isn't used on the jerseys to my knowledge. The symbol is a shield (just like US soccer) in our colors with a tiger paw in the center and 3 stars to represent each natty.

Why is soccer allowed to use a different name than every other sport? It’s not typical, and it’s a valid question. There may be an excellent explanation, but so far none has been provided. So if you don’t know, please move to the back of the line instead of taking up everyone’s else’s valuable time.

It's in keeping with the culture of American soccer. Kids who play soccer expect it, and if it helps us recruit the best players why would anyone have a problem with it. Also no one is chiseling Clemson united in stone on the side of Jervey. It's just a motto used on t-shirts and social media posts.

1) It’s not just a motto. The official Clemson Athletics site refers to the soccer team as “Clemson United”. Again, “All In” is a football motto, but Clemson football is not referred to as Clemson All In on the site. Nor is Clemson basketball referred to as Clemson GRiT on any site I can find. https://clemsontigers.com/sports/mens-soccer/ Men's Soccer The Official Athletic Site of the Clemson Tigers, partner of WMT Digital. The most comprehensive coverage of Clemson Tigers Men’s Soccer on the web with highlights, scores, game summaries, schedule and rosters.
2) I’ve been informed that “United” came from European soccer, not American.
3) Being a good recruiting tool does not mean you change your name. According to this site, Dogs are the most beloved animal, but our football team doesn’t go by “Dogs” just because it’s trendy. https://a-z-animals.com/blog/the-worlds-10-favorite-most-popular-animals/

1. Look at the top of the page it's listed as #ClemsonUnited this is simply branding in the social media Era. When you look at the schedule page you'll simply see Clemson 2. We've ripped off almost all of our Soccer tradition from the Euros. 3. Reductio ad absurdum

“Clemson United” is used, no hashtag. The question is why are they allowed to go by “Clemson United”? Apparently we are in the same boat, neither of us know. Yet you are very quick to turn a serious question into some kind of argument even though you clearly haven’t researched the position you are taking.

Ignorant - lacking knowledge, information, or awareness about a particular thing.
You don't know anything about the use of united in soccer instead you got triggered by the word and assumed it had something to do with social justice. What other innocuous words other than United and ignorant set you off?

I thought it was Tnet being funny a few months ago when they wrote an article about the soccer team. It wasn't about United, I think it was draft or something. But just recently read where it was real and I didn't like it and don't understand either?

Anything to mimic Europe I’d say most would agree is a bad idea.
Would be interesting to know how this got approved by Neff, but I keep hearing how brilliant he is regardless of how nervous and generic he sounds in front of a camera ,so he’s probably right. Then again, never watched a United soccer game in my life, so maybe I should just not care

The word United...

is a European word that was adopted when two teams were merged together to form a new team under a common banner.
With respect to Clemson, the word means just what it implies, the team is "united" or joined together as one for a common purpose or goal. Nothing more, nothing less.
I've got no problem with it.

Clemson All Ins instead of the Clemson Tigers? And regarding being “United”, from a school perspective, you are saying we are United by being different. Just seems odd.

the secret is to tell all active members on a project in private that they are team leader. I have found this very effective in removing the bad employees who lack the required level of anti social behavior and who are unwilling to step on others to get ahead. We call these people winners.
I am not sure how this addresses your mascot issue tho, nor do I care, I just wanted to talk about me for a little while.

@geech72 is dead on it. It is a soccer deal. Most top level teams have United or FC associated with their names. I don’t look at it as they dropped our mascot but just keeping the spirit of that sport.
“Clemson” is all that is needed in soccer as they are a big brand in the soccer world.
