Dont flame me, but has this thought crossed anyones mind?

People assumed Jeff Scott will get the nod to OC after Chad. I hadn't thought of this idea till late last night when it hit me.
Maybe Chad's understudy has been Dabo the past two years. I mean Dabo was a WR coach just like Scott and it's becoming more and more evident to him that he needs to be more of a play caller on on side of the ball. Maybe Dabo has been absorbing the system and will be the real offensive mind after Morris leaves and Jeff Scott will be OC under him, but not really to the same capacity that Chad was.
What yall think?

if he had mastered that he could maybe look at also being OC. Given his last 4 versus the coots and prior Nov and bowls he has plenty on his plate learning to manage a big game. So in a word he isnt ready

Could be true,

But I'd feel better with whom ever on this staff that is being trained to have the full 4 years under Chad we thought we'd get. It's the difference between a college education and a junior college education.
At this point, with the talent Dabo,Brad and Jeff have assembled, CU can hire the OC of their choice and let Dabo/Jeff also learn from them.

I'm not worried about chad leaving. It's they way he is going about it that bothers me. I personally feel Clemson isn't getting what Clemson payed him 1.2 mil for. But let him go, it would be the same next year. Brad was a good OC at FSU, and he was a NC OC. Brad can call plays and scheme them.

if that what Dabo wants ... he is the head coach
It is his butt that will be fired if it goes wrong.
If jeff is like his dad and he was great oc at fsu.
If Dabo knows he can get it done .... then yes.

Just because I know how the pieces on the chessboard move, does not mean I can defeat a grand master. Think it is fallacious reasoning to think otherwise.

Great post. Just because someone caddies for Tiger for 2 years doesn't mean they are going to bust 60, or have their wives cracking them with 9 irons.
If you look at most great OC/ playcallers in history you will hear most of them say they "had a gut feeling" about making a certain call. They just have a knack for doing the right thing at the right time. That is something that cannot be taught.

think about as HC and vice versa. Somethings going to get dropped if he tries to do both. If he thinks Jeff can do it great, but like all coaching hires it will make or break him. I'm sure he knows that.

Not going to happen, the head coach has too many other things to concentrate on during a game than to call the plays. I know Hogrensen at WV tried it but even swithches up this year.
