Texas is pretty beatable.

Like us, they struggled against UGA.

In the first game, the vaunted Texas D picked off Carson Beck 3x, held the dawgs to 108 on the ground, and 175 through the air.

ETN had 3 touchdowns on the ground and UGA kicked 3/3 FGs.

In the second game, the vaunted Texas D picked off Uga 1x, and recovered 1 fumble. UGA threw for 141 and ran for 136. UGA had a ton of drops.

---

Now, if you compare our matchup vs UGA:

CK2: 142 yds via air, 1 int
Running: 46 yards on the ground
Moore and Wesco combined: 12 yards and 2 rec.
Uga: no turnovers, 169 rushing, 278 passing.

---

So, what gives?

Well, offensively, The Tigers are a totally different animal now vs in August/September and I would argue that our offense is overall better than UGAs at this point in time.

Defensively, we've proven that we give non-mobile QBs a fit.

---

The real question: can we play clean, run the ball, and handle the moment in a major away game?

Yes they are.

My only real (and probably just instinctive, no basis in facts or stats) concern is at RB. I hope they can find a way to win without an every down back on the depth chart.

Wonder what conference will referee this game? Might be the difference. Hope a neutral one or the ACC group that did our ACCC game!

The athletes are going to do what they are going to do. They have stacked the deck on their roster.

The adjustments in coaching is what its going to come down to. The timid must become vicious and not look to be cauldled.

Our offense is extremely inconsistent

We have halves where Cade throws for 200+ and we score 17-24 points and then the other half of the same game we will have under 100 total yards and like 3 pts.

That is called "Dabo Ball" and Dean Smith at UNC made it famous in BB a bazillion years ago. When you get a lead, stall, take the air out of the ball, change whatever you were successfully doing, try to run out the clock on offense and make sure the defense softens up coverages and allows the opponents to march down the field, thus burning time. Never, ever, under any circumstances, attempt to run up the score or amass points.

We kind of did the reverse against VT though. 0 pts in 1st half

And our offense didn't really do anything against Louisville until the game was already decided at 26-7. And of course there was the entire UGA game. It was game 1 so it's tough to say how relevant that is now, but i don't think it's always a case of us just going too conservative.

Yep. Louisville had our signs and signs was our worst game.

UGA we matched up well and had no offense.

South Carolina we really controlled until the final 2 possessions.

We need Texas’s offensive stats vs Clemson’s offensive stats in their respective games with Jawja and their defensive stats compared, which you listed.

I think Cade will have Quinn’s number once again.

Our offense is good enough to win. Doesn't mean they will perform well enough.

Both our defense and offense are puzzling.
