Illinois DC is on the list. That would be a terrible hire. They allowed 10 less rushing yards per game than we did this year.

I really hope that’s not factual.

Lots of false flags

He was one of three that was mentioned and they said there were others as well. A lot of rumors swirling around. I like that TCI and TNet are reporting them, gives us a chance to look up the possible hires so we can be more informed when we whine about them

LOL.....Important consideration.***

They held Sellers to 19 yards on 11 rushes

While that’s true. If you watched that game you know that SC game plan was for sellers to pass from the pocket. For some strange reason.

But they allowed Sellers less than 2 yds per carry!

Illinois DBs could tackle, none of them were on the All-American flag football team. DC will only be successful with wolves not collies. Schemes, adjustments and positioning ability are useless if DBs focus on herding runners out of bounds. The only coach I saw engaging in tackling was Woody Hayes, and he is not available. We need back 7 to tackle with passionate desire. Great DCs’ have tacklers like this. BV’s energy level fueled tackling intensity. Proof is the # of his DBs on NFL team rosters. Tackling skills are Musts at this level. If secondary tackling improves success is more likely. Status quo will move intramural flag fb events to memorial stadium and tackle fb to Bowman field to accommodate seating needs.

I doubt Illinois has the talent level of Clemson***

Yep. You can't go strictly by numbers.***

On the other hand, Sellers only ran for 17 yards on them and he ran for over 160 on us. At least their DC was smart enough to figure that out.

I simply want DB’s that don’t hold and grab, and run alongside runners, trying to tackle them by hugging their shoulders. We have some guys that seem scared to tackle.
