Tim Bourret?? See c&p from TCI re: my question.....

"In a move not totally surprising, longtime sports information director Tim Bourret was displaced by Joe Galbraith, who was hired as director of communications."
Exactly what does this mean? Is TB still with Clemson but in some reduced role?
Thanks.

Galbraith Named Assistant Athletic Director for Communications Courtesy: Clemson Athletic Communications Release: 08/09/2013 Send this article to a friend Print RSS More Sharing Services
Galbraith headshotCLEMSON, SC - Joe Galbraith has been named Clemson's Assistant Athletic Director for Communications, announced by Director of Athletics Dan Radakovich on Friday afternoon. Galbraith has spent the last eight years at Mississippi State University, including the last two as the school's Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations.
Galbraith, who will begin work at Clemson on August 30, will oversee the Clemson Athletic Communications department (formerly Sports Information), and will work alongside Tim Bourret, who will move into the role of Assistant Athletic Director for Football Communications.
"Tim Bourret is an incredible asset for Clemson Athletics. With much of his institutional knowledge centering around our football program, it made great sense for him to concentrate his efforts on our most valuable property," said Radakovich.
"Like Clemson, Mississippi State has a well-known history of excellence in the field of Athletic Communications, and Joe Galbraith brings a wealth of experience," added Radakovich. "His knowledge of both traditional and new concepts in the area of communications will be a great fit for this position and a great benefit to Clemson Athletics."
For the past two years, Galbraith has served as Mississippi State's Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations, where he oversaw the daily operations of the athletic media relations department. He also worked closely with the director of athletics and other administrators to develop and implement the school's communications strategy, both internal and external, as well as in the area of social media.
Prior to moving into the role of Assistant Athletic Director, Galbraith served as an Assistant Director of Media Relations for six years, where he was the primary media relations contact for the Bulldog football program for three years and the secondary contact for three additional years.
Prior to his time at Mississippi State, Galbraith served as the Assistant Director of Communications for Florida Citrus Sports in Orlando for three years. During that time, he was the media contact for the Capital One Bowl and the Champs Sports Bowl, as well as over 75 annual membership events.
Galbraith earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Mississippi State in 2001. He is a member of CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) and NACMA (National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators) and has been a featured presenter for both associations, with emphasis on new media and social media efforts in collegiate athletics.
"I'm extremely appreciative of this opportunity to join the Clemson family," said Galbraith. "I've long respected the work of Director of Athletics Dan Radakovich and I look forward to hitting the ground running and helping implement his vision for the department."

article about changes in AD with Yannity, etc., and they referenced this event (that I was not aware of) in that article. I don't think TCI is normally behind the times as a rule. Thanks for updating me. I AM the one who was behind the times.

Tim is still very much involved at Clemson. His main focus in on football, which is what he loves. He runs everything associated with football and the media.
Joe has been a tremendous asset to the SID's office and has brought in many new ideas, as well as the promotion of Clemson on social media. His hire was definitely not a bad thing.
I wouldn't put too much stock into what the article on TCI said...just my opinion, though.

I'm going to send you a T-Mail...
As far as UGA...Right now I'm leaning toward picking them. First game, new (starting) QB, young WRs, somewhat inexperienced OL.

Well isn't UGA on the same train as us at QB. Worse off than we are at WR. Also with a new DC this year. Are you picking UGA b/c we're playing in Georgia. Even with the home field advantage, I just don't see them coming out on top. Well they do have Gurley, but he will be shut down again the second time around. Goooo Tigersssss!!!
