Wasn’t there just a thread on a former 5 star WR from TCU that just entered. In addition to the multiple threads about our less than stellar WR room?
I’m not a Swinney naysayer but some of these kids are worth a look. There’s another 5 star WR from T A&M in the portal too I think.

Jordan Hudson had 14 catches last year and didn't have a good spring for TCU. Right now we're going to sign 2 really good receivers and I think Coach Swinney will grant a 3rd take. I wouldn't want to #### the bed with the 6 prospects we're currently recruiting over a 14 catch guy with a subpar spring.

The flip side is for you to name which receivers currently on the roster has shown the ability to be a WR1 on a playoff level team. For example in 2016 we had Renfrow and Williams. In 2018 we had Tee and Ross.

Should have at least seen if the guy that left Missouri for Georgia had any interest whatsoever. It's frustrating to not use all resources that are available now. It's silly not to use the portal when ever one around you is taking advantage of it.

Unless the guy is the second coming of Sammy Watkins, it won't help.

There isn't really a flip side. Who in the transfer portal is the next Mike Williams or Tee Higgins?

And we do have a good QB now.
We have lots of good receivers and a couple more coming in June. The DJ era is over.

during the season and 1 spring game he's been very up and down. I hope he becomes great, but it's not a given. Not like we're moving into year 2 of Lawrence, or Watson or Tahj as returning starters.

basic QB fundamentals, then you could not possibly have been watching. It is ABSOLUTELY a given we are SIGNIFICANTLY improved at the QB position.
Again, we were pretty much a missed FG away from the playoffs last year. I think we can get those 10 more yards this year.
Really, if you look at it, how can you NOT be extremely confident in what we have?
The "decline" of Clemson football is GROSSLY OVER EXAGGERATED.
Mark it down.

Cade is the real deal. Having said that, Presbyterians QB would be an improvement over D.J.

Williams was injured all of 2015. Renfrow had under 500 yards.
Tee had 345 yards and 2 TDs in 2017. Ross wasn’t on the team.
Williams, Collins, Randall or any of the freshman could meet those qualifications.

I like Dabo. The game has dramatically changed in the last couple years. IMO, Dabo will have to play the new game by the new rules, or get left behind. The new rules are that you let a player develop on some other teams scholarship spot, then you throw NIL money at them and get their best year or two years. NCAA football is now money and free agency. I hate it, but that is what it has become. Get on board or get left.

Bad idea. The people are what make Clemson special. Don't you think recruits are smart enough to realize that Clemson is going to give them a legitimate shot to compete for a starting job right away. Clemson will also allow them to really develop into great players one day. Other programs will just bring in starters from the transfer portal and delay the development of their younger players.
So why sacrifice potentially ruining the culture of Clemson for immediate starters when you can keep the culture and allow young people to develop? That's what Clemson is all about. We are doing it the right way.

That's very true. We have a program build on rock-solid ground, no need to crazy with the portal. I think it also allows for us to fill the hole, when there is a perceived need, to bring a "starter" in through the portal. That's exactly what Saban did 2 years ago at WR and LB. Helped get them to the NCG.

You can have culture or you can have championships. Current rules won't allow for both. NCAA is new NFL. Money is now the driver, not culture. I don't like it, but I realize it.

Are there Swinney naysayers or is it just people that want to see him adapt with the times and not get left behind? The man has literally done it all. We all appreciate Dabo, but I think we all and even the ones that won’t admit it, are pretty worried about his refusal to adapt to the way things are now in CFB.
