Talk of BBQ places lately..

I was remembering a road trip we took some years ago through north Georgia. I remember we stopped at Tallulah Gorge on the way to somewhere? We stopped for a BBQ lunch in a small town and was outstanding food. Can’t remember the town or the restaurant’s name, but I do remember the waitresses wearing t-shirts that read, “we have the best butts in town.” Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

You should have demanded proof.

A small town in North Goergia with good BBQ? Might as well be every town in North Georgia. Possibly Georgia Butts in Eatonton, they have the slogan of Best Butts in town. Found them via a web search.

Thanks. That sounds like the place. Bet they sold a lot of shirts!

We tried Mission Barbecue yesterday. I think it is a chain barbecue place that’s been open about 6 months here in Columbia. Anyway, the barbecue brisket was absolutely awesome! Fork tender and amazing flavor. The cornbread squares were great, too. I will definitely be eating there more often.

based on a lot of glowing recommendations, we tried Lewis BBQ in downtown Greenville last weekend.

Terribly disappointed. The brisket was dry and the mac and cheese was more like over salted cheese soup.

That place will be a one and done for me.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

I feel you on that. I went there because the owner of the bbq restaraunt I go to was there one weekend. So, I figured I would try it. The only thing I really liked were the french fries. What I had tasted good at first, but the more I ate the worse it got. We had leftovers that we threw away. Usually we bring leftovers home from where we go, I do Tiktoks on restaraunts, but this time we threw them away. Try Fork Grove in Anderson, SC. They will more than make up for your experince with Lewis Bbq.

If you want really good barbecue, head to Anderson, SC to a place I frequent called Fork Grove BBQ. I promise you will forget about a whole lot of places. They operate Thurs-Sat 11am-7pm. But, you don't want to get there too late because they do sell out of food. You will not be disappointed.
