Taking practice reports with a grain of salt

I've been reading through articles and posts mentioning how the offense this year has taken a step forward, specifically on the O-line. While I'm typically an optimist when it comes to Clemson football, I can't help but think back to how many times the past few seasons we've heard the same rhetoric. I even went searching for some old reports from the fall camp from last season. Take a look at the one linked below and this excerpt:
"Now for the offensive line.
There is a former player, someone I really trust, who is connected to the program, and he understands the offensive line better than anyone I know. A few years ago, before Clemson played Georgia in Charlotte, he told me that the offensive line would have issues against the Bulldogs, and he was right. Last season, after watching, he told me that he thought the line was better but would need to stay healthy, or it would struggle.
This camp? He is all smiles and talks about the “potential” of the group and how it’s much, much better across the board. He also likes the depth and thinks the freshmen are impressive. This is the most I’ve gotten out of him since 2018, and it mirrors what I’ve seen during our brief viewing periods."

If it’s just injuries then why did Austin get fired?

Dabo is all about building-up and not tearing down...

so he rarely says anything negative about players which makes it harder a gauge what he's really seeing or thinking.
DJU is a perfect example. Dabo was constantly singing his praises, even to a fault, in spite of what everyone could see with their own eyes.

Agree with what you state, but what should he have said? “DJ is a complete mess and we’re SOL” ? 🤩

while trying to build and maintain the confident of a QB who was clearly struggling (at least in games).
I'm simply saying, a lot of times, you have to take what Dabo says with "grade of slaw".

I don't judge our team's potential until after the second or third game. I don't think one can really Forcast the entire season before a single game is played. There should be no ranking of team's until after the 3rd games are played.

Dabo was heaping huge amounts of praise on the OLine last year before the Duke game.
So spot the ball and we’ll see…

teams in the country. We will have to be significantly improved on offense if we are to avoid being embarrassed. Having said that, reports from fall camp aside, I do expect our offense to be improved; how much I don't know, but I don't think it's unreasonable to expect that it will be noticeable with another year of experience for QBs and O-Line, a new O-Line coach, a healthy group of WRs and some exciting newcomers there.
Of course, we won't know until we line up and play. I don't know if we beat UGA, but I'm cautiously optimistic for the season overall.

I was surprised that anyone was allowed to get on the travel bus. Hoping they can get more out of this camp than they did last year.
