Tait led his Queen Creek team to a 37-28 victory over Pinnacle. The game was not as close as the score indicates. Pinnacle jumped out to an early 14-0 lead in the first quarter but from that point on, Queen Creek dominated, scoring 37 unanswered points to take a 37-14 lead. Late in Q4, with only 4 minutes left, Pinnacle scored 2 TDs to close the gap. The 2nd TD came on a decision by Queen Creek to go for it on 4th and 1 at midfield, and Pinnacle stuffed the run for no gain.
Tait had another solid game going 12 of 20 for 176 yards and 2 TDs. He again excelled with his legs, gaining 119 yards on 17 carries and 1 TD. For the season, Tait has rushed for nearly 1400 yards.
The semi-finals will be another tough test against last year's runner up in the Open Division State Championship. Centennial started the season with some close, tough losses to good teams, but has gotten hot when it matters and comes into this game playing their best ball of the season. Queen Creek did play them in Week 7 and came away with a 31-21 victory. I expect Centennial to be much tougher in this game.
Queen Creek will be playing at home which should be an advantage. This will be another great game and a tough test to reach the state final.

Got a feeling this kid will end up a high 4*. I hope we can keep him.
Does he have a brighter future in baseball or football?

Sounds a lot like the skills that DJU had coming out of HS. We will see.

His athleticism is off the charts and he is confident and makes good decisions. The moment doesn’t seem to get too big for him.
Case in point, he had a walkoff single to win the state championship last year.

His ceiling is still considered higher in baseball because he came to football later than most. However, if he has another leap in development his Senior year comparable to his Junior year, that could change.

He really does. His development leap this year has been dramatic considering he is still learning the position.
This team was 3-8 last year…

I'm actually excited about this "lowly 3 star scrub" basically from Daniel High School on the west coast. You know this is a choir boy charity scholarship.
Seriously though hopefully someone else doesn't swoop in and throw an obscene amount of money at him in October next year.

He has 28 offers so far. Probably the ones I would worry about the most as far as poaching would be Baylor, FSU, Miami, OK, Oregon, Tennessee, and A&M.
If he goes out this summer and has some great camps, this list will certainly grow.
