Yes. Hands down. Otherwise they should just go ahead and crown the national champion while they are at it since they can predict future outcomes. No need for the playoff games.

FSU chose themselves by going undefeated and being a P5 conference champion and whooping up on a couple of SEC teams in their non conference schedule just for the fun of it.

I think FSU got screwed but I do think all 4 teams would beat FSU without their starting QB.

If you are choosing the best four... why leave our Georgia?

That's the rub, the inconsistency. Best four - but leave out Georgia? Really? You don't think Georgia would beat Washington? I think most people do, but that's not being discussed.
So they AREN'T picking the best four... not really. And if they aren't doing that then you pick the four most deserving... and FSU absolutely belongs on that list if you want to say things like, 'the regular season still matters', 'wins and losses matter' etc...

99% of college football people, coaches and administrators, look at leaving FSU out as a complete injustice to all the principles of CFB.

And if that FSU team happened to be Clemson - I would be disappointed but not pissed because with a four team made for tv playoff - this #### was bound to happen.
Ok I would be pissed but eventually would come around that I always thought it was seriously flawed system.

Why are we choosing who we think is best in the first place,

like a beauty contest, instead of letting the winners of conferences, as decided on the field, decide it on the field? If you want to know which horse is fastest, don't just speculate about it based on observation and mathmatical formualae and expertise, when you can line 'em up and let them race, then reward the winner. In baseball and basketball, and most other sports, division winners and conference winners duke it out and arrive at a winner through a process of elimination. In football, if you want to include some other teams that you think are good, that's fine, but never at the exclusion of conference champs, and never seeded higher. Sure, there would be some blowouts, but that's just part of it when you reward teams who earned the chance. Again, it shouldn't be about trying to end up with the "best" team; we can never, ever know if we have. The goal should be to crown a champion who earned it by beating everybody who stood in their way.
