Sweet 16 and Elite 8 teams compared to Clemson program

I have enjoyed watching game in the last few days. I don’t watch much basketball during the season except I do catch most of our games. As I watched truly elite teams play there were strikingly obvious differences compared to our program.
1 - Each team had more play makers on the floor than we do. Even down to 6th, 7th, 8th players. This goes to recruiting. No one has ever accused CBB of being a great recruiter and it shows dramatically. I would not even want him moved over to a position of portal recruiting. He cannot bring the best talent to Clemson.
2 - Financial backing has had nothing to do with teams in the finals. There is a cross-section of newbies and traditional power houses.
3 - Style of play - for the most part teams are playing a fast paced game and teams have multiple players who can make plays in the paint or shooting the 3 ball. We do not. This goes to recruiting.
4 - Coaching style - most coaches present a relaxed manner while the game progresses as compared to CBB who spends his time endlessly waving his arms and shouting instructions. He also criticizes players in game and on the side line.
5 - Rebounding - it was clear that the winners focused on rebounding. Definitely something not coached in CBB’s style of play.
These are just a few things that stuck out to me so far. It is clear that we do not have a coach who can compete with these higher level teams on most levels. To think we do is simply fantasy.
I hope Graham Neff is watching these games and takes note of the level of these programs vs our program. The differences are dramatic. We need a change if we are ever going to compete with the best. 13 years is long enough.

CBB plays a hang around and see what the other team is going to do style. All of the games I watched had an attack style offense. They are in the play offs and we are not. Nuff said.

Agree, clear differences.
I especially like the inside athlete rim defenders, shot blockers, rebounders. Athletes. Brads coaching of chunk 3s and run - does not work and leaves you open to horrible losses when they don’t fall.

Again..Brad isa great guy but not a MBB Championship type of guy.

Your #5 is what I have been screaming about for years, under Brad. It is the number one problem in my mind. It is something I coached feverishly when I was coaching basketball. You can see there isn't a "plan" when you watch our team.

Problem is that Neff thinks Brownell has an NCAA tournament team. So not sure he would pick up on the difference.
