ACC

1

May 18, 2023, 2:52 PM

So, is the ACC really as bad as everyone makes it out to be?

Put aside the money concerns for just one second please. Money doesn’t get you anything. It’s obvious looking at Jimbo Fisher.

The level of competition within the other leagues is simply just over exaggerated. The ACC has consistently beaten other conferences in bowl games and postseason play. The rankings and all of that during the regular season always goes in favor of the SEC and BIG10. Just because they are PERCEIVED to be better, the best teams in those 2 conferences are more highly ranked and seeded because of their conference.

But this doesn’t affect anything anyways. Especially with a 12-team playoff. And I assure you, the ACC will remain in contention as a top-6 conference so that our winner gets the automatic qualification. There won’t be a year that the ACC falls below Group of 5 conferences, not as long as Clemson and FSU are in the ACC.

That said, Clemson does deserve more money for its success. If they can figure it out, I don’t really care where we’re at. We still get the chance to prove ourselves in the playoffs.

Put the money aside... sure I agree with you... but unfortunately this whole thing is all about the money.

Clemson will be out of the ACC sooner rather than later.

Surprised to see such a big number

Of the OOC games for the ACC…I guess this includes all the “JV” games that are scheduled

Immediate snapshot...not so bad necessarily...

However the projections based on other conference info, teams, contracts, TV, etc.....The gap will widen more and more...and nothing the ACC can do to stop it. Failure to react in the past is catching up with it.

Mute point

FSU and Clemson won't be in the ACC much longer.

The ACC simply isn't going to survive in it's present form past another 2-3 seasons.

It might take a little longer than that. . If Clemson or FSU could break the GOR, they would already have done so. Same logic for Texas and Oklahoma leaving the Big 12. They would have started in the SEC in 2022 instead of waiting until 2024.

I think the only reason FSU and Clemson haven't made a move already is because they need 6 other schools to vote with them to dissolve the ACC. Nobody is doing that until they all have landing spots in other conferences. Building that kind of consensus takes time.

Since it is a “mute” point, I surmise that no one is really able or even capable of talking about it! 🤭
